@@abelskie The phrase "You don't fly and not be among airbenders" is kinda of a stupid statement because we've seen multiple elemets fly. Azula, Jeong Jeong, Ozai, and General Iroh (the one from korra) have all been seen flying with fire. In the last 2 episodes of ATLA you can also see Bumi advance the white lotus forward by flying them through the air on rocks with earth bending. Flying isn't that cool when it's not really unique to any certain element. Even a water bender could theoretically fly if they bloodbended their own body since we've seen multiple bloodbenders lift people in the air.

@@MaxusFox23 She was a good avatar to the humans. She neglected the spirits so because of that, the spirits, just like in S2 when Vaatu had influence on them, they became evil and angry. As a result, Kuruk had to fight off evil spirits, and he created the “go with the flow avatar” façade to make sure Yangchen’s legacy isn’t tarnished. He ended up dying young in his 30s after all of that.

Rewatching this with you guys, I really appreciate the foreshadowing of Bolin's lava bending ability earlier in the season. When they first brought up metal bending to him he kept on talking about how rare metal bending was (ironic because he unlocked an even rarer ability). I keep remembering what he said to Opal "I'm more into the dirt and the rocks- it's kinda where my heart is". I guess he wasn't lying.

@@ngm6541 That's just pure speculation without anything to confirm it. It always made sense that an earthbender could heat up rocks just like waterbenders can do with water. It would just be a lot harder since it'd need a lot more heating, but just like waterbending it shouldn't need any firebending ancestry, just needs you to be talented enough in that category of earthbending.

@@alexpalaciossantos4940 It's a completely different skillset. Metal bending is all about finding the small bits of earth inside metal and bending the metal through those small bits. You need extreme control. Lavabending is just heated earth. It's not about precision.

Kuvira is introduced in such a SUS wahy but we ctualy had her many times before the name. she was praticing the performace in ther first scene were we see Suyin not sure in wich order but we see her makign a report to Suyin and being refered as head of security of Zaofu(a equivalent role to Lin) she also gets spotlight we she yeated zahher out of his crew wen they invaded zaofu and held her own angaist him(she had assistance of other guards but she was the main fighter on the group) also some other minor aparences in background.

I've seen people argue that Bolin's lavabending is a result of being the child of both Fire and Earth, but I think that's rubbish. Bolin has always had a more... fluid style of Earthbending than normal. Right when he gave Korra that first lesson in pro-bending it was obvious. Lavabending is, if anything a fusion of Earth and *Water*, not Fire. It's basically the same thing as changing between ice and liquid water.

Both Katara and Toph's parents are non benders yet we see both of them able to bend AND accomplish insane feats like blood and metal bending. We know nothing about Ghazan's parenthood either, in fact it's only known he was raised by an older sister. Heating the rock should be no different then cooling the water into ice. Did Katara need to have an earth parent to bend the mud against toph?

@@Flirtz420 what doesn’t surprise me that their community isn’t there anymore but that all the machinery and such is gone without any trace that it was there. in a season full of little callbacks to atla the complete exclusion just feels strange. how easy would it be to have tenzin just mention the history of the northern temple as a refuge during the war and how it was later restored by acolytes . especially bc i think thematically it would really fit, especially in “original airbenders”!!! like the idea that new generations, even though they’re different, can take the echoes of the past and fit themselves into it and learn to respect the culture while also adapting it to their own (the gliders and the air walkers!) parallels well with the new airbenders who learn to gain community in this new identity while not completely adapting nomad culture. wow i completely went off in ways i did not intend 😅

Zahir is definitely nice but he wouldn’t have beaten tenzen nor could he have beaten ang. The only reason he’s so deadly is because he doesn’t share their passive outlooks on life he’s not a monk. Also ang was flying in the finale and I believe gyuotsu (Ang’s master) suffocated all the fire benders in that room. If u look again he was surrounded no fire marks and the way the air rushed out when the door was open supports the theory

when Pli died he let go his earthly tether, tenzin is a family man , he could never do that and this is why i think he has problems with spiritual side of airbending he is bound by concern of his family and people , but in terms of fighting he is is the best. Bolin lava bending makes sense because when you in metal you focused on the solid earth within the metal and with lava bending its controlled by the accelerating the earth particles so fast that they heat up to lava, same like a fire benders with the fire ( make shift science don't quote me ) Home girl korra really grew up , we love her sooooo much Kuvira was shown more times as a soft launch intro to her character but you never noticed till now hehehehe
