Vampires don't need to breathe as established in Part 2 with Straizo, and stands don't either as shown in the Dark Blue Moon fight with them being able to talk underwater. Everything about underwater and scuba diving having to do with DIO is a reference to "Holy Diver" and DIO's time spent at the bottom of the ocean though, he literally has water PTSD. Another common false fan theory about how timestop works is Jotaro being unable to timestop as good in later parts because of his heart being weak from him stopping it, but it's just because he hasn't used it in a long time.

The reason why Dio went down so easily is because he attacked Jotaro with his left leg, remember how Dio mentioned earlier that his left side was still weak and not really in his control? That's the side Jotaro precisely attacked with that last punch. Dio's demise was foreshadowed all along.

sooo hyped for part 4, by far my favorite part that’s been animated. the very first episode of part 4 is INCREDIBLE. cant wait to see the reaction to it! (also, my name will finally make sense lmao.) part 3 was great, i loved all the reactions from you guys. also, you’ll notice that in the end credits to last train home, joseph is only holding three tickets. in terms of a new villain, you’ll find that parts 1-3 were all very focused on dio and bloodlines, biological family ties, willpower, etc., all staying relatively stereotypical for shonen of the time it was written (although rather outrageous at times), while parts 4-6 will be more focused on other things. i hope you guys like part 4 as much as i do! i’ll be watching your jojo reactions for as long as you keep posting them lmao.

Farewell Crusaders, its been a fun one! I'm enjoying this watchlong a whole lot. Part 4 is coming around for the patreon users today and for the youtube next week. There's a hell of a ride in store for Prez and Kelvin with part 4. -The arc of Battle in Egypt for Stardust Crusaders is based on the album EGYPT by DIO. -Kakyoin's favorite musician is Sting -Avdol's Crossfire Hurrican attack got it's namesake from a lyric in a Rolling Stones song named "Jumpin Jack Flash" The lyric in this song reads as "I was born in a Crossfire Hurricane" -In episode 3 of Stardust Crusaders season 1.. We hear Holly hum as she's folding clothes. She's actually humming that song "Aoi Sangoshou" By Seiko Matsuda. Now this is an extremely subtle detail. But remember how Holly said she wanted to be called Seiko?... yup. Even this was a musical reference. -Though in the manga for this scene.. She's singing "The Loco-Motion" by Kylie Minogue -Polnareff's sister Sherry is based on the song "Tout, Tout Pour ma Cherie" by Michael Polnareff -Rosas, the loyal butler of Suzie Q is based on the band Guns and Roses!.. Guns and Rosas, lol. -At the very end of this episode. Joseph is listening to "Get Back" by the Beatles. You guys are already familiar with it. "Get back to where you once belong. Get back JoJo.. Go home." When asked about writing the character Jean Pierre Polnareff, Araki says "When you think about characters who grew on the most on the journey to defeat DIO, the first one who comes to mind is Polnareff. He went from a lone wolf who only cared about getting revenge on his sister to one of the allies who supported the Joestar group to the end. It was a lot of fun drawing his growth through his battles with Stand users on the way to Egypt. For better or worse, Polnareff's lines always stand out, so readers may think he gets a lot of screen time. Jotaro is the main character, of course, and Joseph is the navigator. Polnareff was the best answer I could come up with for a personality and visual appearance that would still be able to stand uniquely apart from those two. He makes up for what the two Joestars can't do... So he may have always been special to me. (Laughs) For example, when he's with Jotaro and Joseph, Polnareff becomes a character who can both tell jokes and act serious. Polnareff's the one who always falls into enemy traps and has bathroom trouble on the journey. If that had happened to Jotaro, it would have made him seem too careless, and the story would have gotten off-kilter. That's why I had no choice but to put in Polnareff as much as I did. Compared to Kakyoin and Avdol, Polnareff is a light, straightforward man who goes out of his way for others, and tends to stick his nose where it doesn't belong. Thanks to that, he got a lot of screen time. Also, whenever I drew him, his silhouette always seemed to be a lot more imposing than his other allies. I based his memorable hairstyle on foreign models and sort of powered up Stroheim's hairstyle from Part 2. Since he got so much screen time, he also got a lot of battles. Devo, J. Geil, Alessi, and Vanilla Ice... He fought a lot of DIO's men, and I was always worried that I might have to make Polnareff lose, or even kill him. Within his battles I saw the unique excitement of not knowing who's going to come out of this alive, similar to with "The Magnificent Seven." Polnareff grew precisely because he conquered so many do-or-die situations. Lastly, about the name Jean P. Polnareff. My three favorite French people are Alain Delon, Jean Paul Belmondo, and the singer Michel Polnareff. So I was influenced by their names. And back then, the first French name that came to my mind was Jean Paul. There's also a famous chocolatier named Jean Paul Hévin, so I'd probably feel the same way now." Interviewer asks, "He doesn't usually wear a jacket, why is he wearing one here?" Araki responds, "I had a supermodel/rock star image in mind. His normal clothes are very simple, so I wanted to do something extravagant for the cover. I painted Silver Chariot purple to match Polnareff's clothes."

And so the stone mask era comes to a close. I gotta say I love how DIO evolves into a Rock Band npc once he has Joestar blood. Couldn’t find any extra facts this week (Tbh I didn’t look very hard though cause I’ve still been feeling sick), but as usual here are my thoughts: I wanted to address Joseph’s “death” first because I feel it is an important moment that isn’t talked about enough. In the universe of JJBA it’s established that if the body can accommodate the soul (usually via some kind of stand ability) a resilient person can will themselves back from the dead. Keep this in mind, I won’t give away too much, but you’ll see this crop back up later. I have mixed feelings about the revival. I still stick by my original opinion that it would’ve been more impactful had he stayed dead, but I can understand Araki’s reasoning behind keeping him alive (he stated he didn’t see a heroic death as fitting a swindler personality type). The blood transfusion thing was completely ridiculous but I’ll let it slide cause it’s JoJo. Also can we just take a moment to admire this man’s dedication to the prank? Since I pretty much shared all I had about the finale specifically last week here are my thoughts on Stardust Crusaders as a whole: there’s some pretty big pacing-related issues with this part and for that reason I would put it at 4/5 in my lineup. I still love it a lot though. It’s mostly good episodes with a few spectacular ones and a few duds sprinkled throughout. It tries to dedicate too much time to unsubstantial plot points sometimes and drags as a result (I think if they’d have cut it down a couple episodes to about the length of parts 4 and 5, it’d be perfect). I miss Hamon and I don’t see why they couldn’t both be in the series but I respect the gamble of changing power dynamics and really dig stands, they make for good fights and are *usually* pretty creative. I do feel like the fights themselves should’ve been a bit more evenly split between the Crusaders though. That’s just me being nitpicky though. I didn’t like Jotaro at first either tbh, but he’s grown on me by now.

One thing that is very often forgotten is how the revival is something that was there even in part 1 with Tarkus and Blueford. They were dead for like 300-400 years and they still came back to life with the usage of vampiric blood. Joseph simply is a hamon user so his hamon destroys the "vampirism" in the blood

I'm fairly certain the reason for that was visual spectacle and logic. Tankers are more logical to be roaming around the pastures of Cairo. Also, the fire that was caused by the tanker exploding looked good when Jotaro stopped time.

I think most people say part 3 can be a bit boring or drag on probably have rewatched it too much but for people who are seeing itfor the first time it's nonstop entertainment. Also last train home always hits different at the end of part 3 because you realize why they used such a somber song for the second ending. It's because we ended up losing so many of our crusaders and it'll always hurt to see that picture they took when everyone was alive and well. Jotaro is my favorite character in the entire series so I'm glad you guys ended up loving him too. Now it's on to part 4 which is my favorite part!! I already know the reaction to episode 1 is going to be fun lol.

While The World is totally a reflection of DIO's spiritual self, it's scuba appearance reflecting his 100 years spent underwater, it's also totally a reference to the song "Dio - Holy Diver", as Araki goddamn loves his western music references as will become oh-so-apparent in part 4 and onward, though we got a taste of it in DIO's mansion. we have ended the journey of part 3! everytime i see the scene where dio is being split in half by star platinum's punch , i thought it would have been a nice touch if we saw Jonathan as Star Platinum. i think jotaro got to know he can stop time before meeting dio , because in (Barbie) D'arby the gambler episode , he brings a cigarette and also a drink out of nowhere and D'arby passess out because he gets to know that Jotaro has the same ability as Dio (my thinking) The vibe of part 4 is literally so much different then the rest of the parts , it is going to be Crazy! that is goin to be greato daze (foreshadowing lol) Lets see you in part 4!

Fun thing, Jotaro managed to hold The World's and Dio's strenght, which is impressive. And SP stronger than TW cuz Dio can't develop his stand more without succing alll Joestar blood.

Imo, i think TW is still on par with SP. SP got that sudden power up bcs jotaro was in so much pressure and rage so SP just kinda get some boost as well. Remember not long ago they clashed their stand and TW just overpowering SP. But after jotaro saw dio drying joseph, he was angry and managed to overpowering dio back. And for dio he was never in any rage or anything, he just kinda playing and testing his stand against jotaro

Yare yare daze... we finally made it to the end of our journey. Final references for all of part 3! Dio's Road Roller move was inspired by an identical move used by Kinnikuman in the first episode of the Kinnikuman anime. Jotaro quizzes Joseph to make sure he isn't possessed by DIO by asking him who sang the song "Eat It" to which he responds "Al Yankovic". In the last chapter Joseph listens to "Get Back " from The Beatles; this is a wink to the audience as many people think the name "JoJo" is a reference to this song as it's about a man named Jojo. In the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Capcom fighting game, Kakyoin's ending theme uses a score similar to the opening chords of Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven ." In the part 3 drama CD the Old Man's stand is called Strange Relation after the Prince song Strange Relationship. In Escape From JoJo's Bizarre Mansion, the character Dija Maker is named after the Led Zeppelin song D'yer Mak'er. His stand is called House of Holy, after the Led Zeppelin album Houses of the Holy. Part 3 is a road trip quest anime, where you have bros travelling and seeing places. Horror movie tropes all around. They meet a bunch of people so weird they manifest Stands. Part 4 is Twin Peaks, the battle anime. What if there's a whole town of weirdos who got stands and some of them just use their powers at work or their hobbies and stuff? What if the big bad is just one of those folks, occasionally doing stuff for kicks?

Although there are fans who think of Kakyoin as Jotaro's best friend, the truth is that if we analyze closely, that title goes to Polnareff. Kakyoin had closeness with Jotaro for also being a student and understanding a little bit the kind of life that the protagonist had in those moments, but Polnareff shared more moments with Jotaro, especially in the second half of the story at the same time that both shared more fights, that level of trust so deep between them can be seen after the fight against Alessi in which Jotaro swears not to tell anyone about the strange crush of Polnareff and has that nice gesture of giving encouragement to his friend by patting him on the back. And of course, we still have the future.

The world's time limit on stopping time increases every time the user uses it ( it only increases by like 0.2 or 0.3 seconds) but I were dio and I knew this then I would constantly use the world for as long as I can eventually I would be able to stop time for a minute or a hour,
