Nintendo went so hard to drive home the point how much the Mario Brothers love each other. Literally every scene they have together shows it. They did so to shut up everyone that keep claiming Mario hates Luigi. Literally every argument they could possibly make gets smashed to pieces in this movie. "They come from a broken family." Nope! They come from a big loving family. "Luigi resents Mario and would turn on him in a second." Nope! Even in Bowser’s clutches, he cant stop singing his praises. "But not as kids. No siblings are close as kids!" Nope! They were close as BABIES! "Luigi's a little scaredy cat! You cant rely on him for anything!" Nope. Mario knew otherwise from day one. THAT'S why he pulled Luigi with him to grab the power star.

Have to disagree with the licensed music. Every time I heard a licensed song pop up, my first thought was "wait... why is this song being used in this scene?", especially when Take On Me started playing. Beyond that, I think licensed songs just are a bad choice for a Mario movie, seeing that the Mario franchise already has an insane list of OSTs that do not use licensed music from what I can remember. But the average general audience member would possibly be annoyed to be reminded they aren't part of the community. Licensed music sadly is a way to bring general audiences in.

@@Frenzyshark Beyond the fact that Mario music has a general appeal and long running history in the consciousness of the general public, why would a non-licensed background music be alienating when general audiences aren’t known for thinking of background music in that way? 9:20 To add on to your point, seeing as how Mario is technically the first human (and I mean the first ACTUAL human since the Toads are moreso humanoids) Peach has ever met in her life up to that point, coupled with her surprisingly less than stellar social skills (what with her getting right up in Mario's personal space as soon as she meets him and later flubbing her attempts to sell him a white lie to help him feel better about his training), it's safe to say that Peach is not being as insensitive as CinemaSins is making her out to be

Something i’d also like to point out, his sin at 11:19 about how its “unhealthy” Mario and Luigi haven’t been separated for more than a day or two, doesn’t make sense. As you established earlier, Mario and Luigi live at home with their entire family. At the end of the day they both will return home and see each other, whether it be for dinner or even just to say goodnight.

also lets think about this. They are twins. They lived in the same house for their entire life, they went to school together, they probably went places together by way of convenience or to protect eachother, and they grew up together and work at the same job as eachother. They literally might have never had the chance to have even a second away from each other, barr using the bathroom one after the other

Y'know, the one video I saw of him was about Tron, the original Tron from 1982. I've watched it a few years later, and while it is definitely the definition of a cult classic (I really don't think I could recommend it to my folks or most other people I know), it definitely was one I enjoyed. While the story's pace was very subdued and calm, it had a lot of thought put into the mythos of the world, which I always figured was one of its main appeals. And of course, while the graphics and CGI are very dated by today's standards, and even some of the costumes are a bit goofy, the set and costume design as a whole is pretty incredible and stylistic, and the CGI effects for the time must've been beyond mind-blowing! It was CGI _before_ CGI! They had to make everything from scratch, from the help of different companies that specialized in different types of computer graphics, going through ridiculously huge hoops and a lot of arduous work to make something most folks can make on Blender these days in less than an hour. In terms of computer graphics and effects for movies, we've come a long way ever since 1982. These guys pioneered CGI, and when one realizes that, you can't help but appreciate Tron just that much more. I wish we'd see more of the franchise these days. So, where was I? Oh yeah, CinemaSins' video felt too cynical and unreasonable even when 8 hadn't seen the movie yet (I didn't spoil myself too much anyways, I honestly didn't want to watch the whole video), and I'm... glad? to see that I didn't miss much by not keeping up with CinemaSins' shenanigans. Didn't realize his videos used to be a lot shorter than what they are now, that hardly seems fair for the movies he talks about these days. I know this can be played up for laughs, and this is just a satyrical character he's playing, much like James Rolfe and the Angry Video Game Nerd, or Doug Walker and the Nostalgia Critic, but the thing is, we don't really have a reference point nor any insight to CinemaSins' actual thoughts about it. Even if the Nerd seems more reasonable with much of his criticism nowadays (in some of his older videos, particularly Lester the Unlikely, you could tell he was parodying an actual nerd that was playing the game wrong), and... I don't really have a point of reference for the Nostalgia Critic since it has been a while ever since I've watched his videos honestly... with CinemaSins, we kinda get... nothing. Could be a joke, could be sincere. Could be /j or /srs. It's Schrodinger's Troll - you never know if a guy with outlandishly bad takes is being serious or not, because when they then say "nah, I was joking", you then think he could be just saying that to save face.

I'll be honest, I don't get what the hang up is on the voice acting in this movie (apart from doing it as joke) because honestly I think all the actors blew it out of the water, I mean to be fair the was no way Jack would've disappointed the guy is known for committing to the bit, but Charlie Day, Anya Taylor Joy, fuck even Chris Pratt were surprisingly good picks and felt natural from the start of the story to the end.

6:07 we have that in Brazil as well. I personally never understood the american mentality of "if you live with your parents, you're a loser with nothing of value to live for", because here, if we live with our parents, or at most close to them, we do so to help them in their old age, with bills, taking them where they need to good, and so on.

15:51 Not sure if anyone has pointed this out yet, but in modern MK games, the shell can be transferred to second place and it's only if it hasn't already started targeting someone. It's harder online because you can't be exactly sure *who* is in 1st place. Logically speaking, the race was lagging and so it went after Mario, but someone else mentioned that the koopa who turned into the blue shell already had a vendetta against Mario, so I think it's justified that he would go after him regardless, like a targeted triple red.
