Treasure is one of the best video game studios of all time. They have consistently produced amazing games that are polished and well received since their inception. So how did they fare with an N64 title that was exclusive to Japan? Well, I'll just say they didn't miss.

Just recently started going through your vids since I'm a big fan of the N64. Honestly one of my favorite consoles and I've been collecting for it for years. Glad you love this game as much as I do, although most who end up checking it out usually come to the same conclusion. Such a shame the game never got localized until the Wii digital release, there were even publications who imported the game just to let consumers know "hey let Nintendo know you want this game, it's sick as hell" but it was way too late into the console's life span that Nintendo saw it as a waste of time and resources. The digital release did so well on fact that it encouraged Treasure to come back one last time to make the sequel, which is saying a lot because their output have severely decreased over the years outside of re-releases of Ikaruga and Gunstar Heros, sometimes other titles like Radiant Silvergun. I'm really impressed at the pace you've been going at and how successful it's been thus far, there's only really a few games I can think of that'll really give you some trouble translation wise but this far in I can already you got this. I hope you can get to Treasure's other games soon along with other personal favorite's like Goemon's Great Adventure, that one is absolutely sadistic near the tail end, good luck and god speed.

I agree it is a mightily impressive N64 game and I had a right good time with it. Especially loved those battleship sections - seems unbelievably ambitious and polished for the time and still lots of fun now! Also kudos to Thab on this challenge, can't believe your dedication to it tbh.

Fitting that the 100th game yielded the first 10. I wonder if that means it’ll be until the 200th game to get Ocarina of Time or any of the other popular games people usually give 10/10s to. Edit after game 200: Not quite game 200, but the next 10s were a few games before and after it.

My brother bought me this game when it came out in Japan. He followed every Treasure game release and I'm glad he did. I know you gave this a 5/10 difficulty but there is also a hard mode. I think you unlock it after beating the game once. You also unlock a turbo mode and a high-frame rate mode. This means you can turn on all three modes for one of the toughest challenges. I think I only ever got to the last boss, but everything was flying at me too fast and I never beat it with all three modes turned on. It's certainly 10/10 difficulty!

you can change de look sensitivity by switching weapons. I believe you used the heavy weapon throughout the whole game, which has a slower aim, that's why you think the crosshair is slow. If you had changed to rapid fire, the crosshair would move faster.

I waited 5 years for this to release in the US. When I could finally play it on the Wii? Totally worth the wait. As to sensitivity, I don't know a way to change it, but one of the buttons toggles the crosshair from free-aim to lock on. You do less damage, but a nice way to keep damage flowing while you focus on dodging other things. I have the sequel, but I've never booted it up. How on earth do you top the level progression of invaders in a city, taking out a naval fleet, and ending with dueling the earth in the most awesome throwback to Missile Command ever?

Star successor is a much larger game, some levels in it feel tedious because they go on for a long time and bosses have way more health than the first game, but there's a lot of great parts in it too, if you like the first one you'll probably like the squel
@Jerhevon
@Jerhevon 11 ай бұрын
As you're commenting on the cursor sensitivity one thing I noticed was that while you got the hang of pausing to use the melee, you don't toggle the cursor modes. Not so much sensitivity, but in free mode you do more damage, but there's also a lock on mode where you do less damage, but it keeps the targeting locked while you focus on movement. Also, as ever Sin & Punishment is just awesome.

So many good iconic moments in this game. And then to end on a crazy escalation of the game's story, but also the wildest game callback possible. We're going to save our earth from a false earth in the flashiest version of Missile Command possible. Game on!

This game is like a Final Fantasy, Evangelion, Macross, and Attack on Titan fever dream. How cool.

I got this on the Wii but would love to have it on original hardware. I'm happy for you whenever a good game finally pops up.

You should play through the Wii game as well. It's also a 10/10.
