I went to my local Asian grocery store, and they had Thai basil!! So, I made this tonight for my mom, (without the 🌶) and she loved it! I did a well. My mother has incurable cancer and I’m afraid of her losing weight. One huge reason I love this channel! She loves Asian food and I can make it healthy. Thank you so much, Ling! Your videos are always wonderful. Stay well!

Years ago, I worked with a sweet lady from Thailand, and she taught me this recipe. It has been one of my favorites ever since! I love Thai basil! It has a distinct flavor and doesn't taste the same as sweet basil. I can only find it in an Asian market. Thank you for this video! I will have to cook some now!

I love basil chicken! I have a slightly different recipe that I use though. But the last time I made it, the store was completely out of basil! So my wife bought a package of baby spinach to use instead, and, it worked! The fun thing about stir fry cooking, is that you can be very creative, once you learn the proper techniques. Next time I make basil chicken, I will try your recipe!

Hi Ling. Nice dish. I hope to try it someday. If you may remember I was researching on various rices. I've decided to stick with long grain as it's easier to stir fry. Jasmine wasn't that bad but long grain rice will be my choice for all my Chinese Home Cooking. Wok with me Ling. Thank you.
@ChineseHealthyCook4 жыл бұрын
Jasmine rice has a long grain although not as long as basmati rice. Hope you will try the fish too 😊
@metalandy4 жыл бұрын
@@ChineseHealthyCook Ling, I prefer loose grains cuz it's easier to cook even though I had fun using Jasmine. I found basmati too light so I'm sticking with regular long grain rice. I do plan to ask the manager what type of rice they use and hoping he can give me a sample so I can try at home.

adding some basil at the beginning with chili and garlic is something I hadn't seen before, does it impart a lot of extra flavour into the cooking over just adding it at the end of the cook?
@ChineseHealthyCook4 жыл бұрын
Yes, it infuses the oil and flavors the chicken. Enjoy 😊

Great episode. I love Thai flavors. One suggestion for an episode/theme is "Q&A with Ling", or something similar to show "behind the scenes". Who's the cameraman that sneezed? How do you plan your groceries/menu before the show? Do you have assistants? Who edits your videos? How/when you started your KZbin channel? I'm sure your viewers would be happy to see what's behind the camera. Keep on cooking Ling!

Why do you cut with the grain?

Chicken breast meat is different from other meats. It doesn’t have uniform grain. Cutting against grain may make it too tender. Although I cut with the grain, it is on the bias 😊
