Hi Peter, I enjoy listening to the stories read out by you. Today I liked the story of the India Engineer. He is right - In India many organisations specially Sales organisations run sales campaigns and the winners are taken to Thailand for 3 day trip. The sales dealers come to Thailand in droves and sometimes behave in a nasty way. It's sad and unfortunate but that's the it is. But they contribute to Thailand tourism in a big way!

Morning Peter. I just listened to these stories early on Sunday morning having returned from Thailand yesterday (Saturday after it ). As usual, great stories - I enjoyed the one from the Indian guy (last week there were literally dozens of groups on Indians roaming around Pattaya but that’s ok). As you know, I go there often for work and I see this there too. I have to agree with you regarding your sentiments about the UK, it’s just boring and dull (it was cold and raining when I landed, so missed the best-wave) . I can see why you have decided to move there. Keep up the great work and I’ll catch you on the Friday live-stream. Cheers 🍻

Living in Mexico mix traveling to other parts of Latin America very cheap like a ticket from my city of Tijuana to Tulum or Cancun only cost $100 I can fly there on the weekends and I can also go to Los Cabo for about $50 round trip. Asia is still too far away from me right now I'm just focusing on work but by living in Tijuana while working in San Diego I've been able to save up thousands of dollars already with these I should have double digits early next year in my bank account

Great stories as always. When I stayed in Pattaya, I would withdraw whatever money I needed in the morning and return my bank card to my hotel room, well hidden, before going around the city. I would keep the bank card and money in seperate pockets so in the event of being robbed, they would likely only get one or the other. When I left the card back I would keep the money seperate aswell. X amount in one pocket, Y amount in another. It might sound overly complicated but it's too risky to have it all in a wallet or bundled together with so many opportunists hanging around.
@ThailandBound2 жыл бұрын
Hi Noel, nope, does not sound "Overly complicated" it sounds very wise and is the same as I do!

Love the Indian guy's story and could relate. In my youth, I could have watched a thousand KZbin videos warning me about bar girls etc, and all would have been forgotten within 2 minutes of meeting a stunner, lol. And no, I won't judge a billion Indians based on the handful who call repeatedly claiming to be the IRS (us gov tax agency) threatening me with immediate arrest if I don't pay my tax debt (by iTunes cards) within half an hour.

lol, i was joking with the Tuktuk drivers a lot in Bangkok. i went on a trip to Thailand alone. i tok the chois to stay in Bangkok to get used too the heat. but I had done my homework before I went on a trip, i knew what a price on a taxi should be. First night a Tuktuk driver i not will name came up to me and a German man i had met and said he wanted to drive us, we wanted to see the nightlife in Kosanroad, i knew the taxi would cost around 50baht, but he started with asking 1500baht :-P i was expecting a quite high first price, but this was sooo much higher tan i expected that i just blasted out in laughter and called him a Nit noi Dingdong Thai bandit :-P (a little crazy Thai bantit) its a looong story both before and after this. Maybe i will write report on my trip and the things that happened, was there 7 month. i ended up getting to know some of the Tuktuk drivers, how they lived, the scams, a little how it works and so on. they have quite a story some of them gys when you take with you a bottle of whiskey and some food and sit there with them drinking up the bottle and sharing experiences from where we come from. lots to tell, ended up seeing a lot of Bangkok for free from the Tuktuk :-)
