As an asexual, the compulsive need to steal kneecaps is an unfortunate side effect of not having sexual attraction. It causes great problems in our life. The lack of storage space and assult charges being two of many. We're able to ignore it for most people we meet. However, when someone annoys us, usually aphobes or just really unlucky tourists, the need becomes overwhelming and we have no choice but to give in. It's a hard existence, but I hope this helps you understand.

I once got into an argument in college with a girl who was saying bisexuality was too confusing so bi people should identify based on their current relationship. Like, I'm a woman married to a man therefore I should identify as straight. I could not get her to explain to me 1)how someone 'changing' their sexuality presentation every time they get a new partner was less confusing, 2)what about single bisexuals, and 3)how this system was supposed to work with poly. When I have more female partners am I as lesbian who makes an exception for certain guys? How confusing is it that gender isn't a strong factor in my attraction? I also don't date people based on hair color, height, or blood type. How is that not confusing but the moment you don't care about gender everyone is so confused? I mean, they are right that bisexuals are confused but we're not confused about our sexuality. We're confused by this kind of bs.

Ironically the trans pride dinosaur meme featured the only dinosaur that we actually kind of know what its genitals looked like, because a year or so back there was a publication describing the cloaca of an exceptionally well-preserved Psittacosaurus (the genus name of the dinosaur on the flag). The dinosaur they chose has come closer to telling us what was in its pants than literally any other dinosaur. But then on the flip side a. Technically this is a different species, it looks like the dinosaur on the flag is Psittacosaurus sibiricus and the specimen with its cloaca described is not (it wasn't assigned a species at the time, I think it might be assigned to P. mongoliensis now? Idk), and b. Archosaurs (crocodiles, birds, nonavian dinosaurs and their relatives) keep their reproductive bits inside the cloaca unless they, er, intend to use them, if they have identifying bits at all (crocodilians do, most birds don't, and dinosaurs probably did but we don't really know), so we still don't know if that particular Psittacosaurus is male or female because its internal structures weren't so visibly preserved aside from its skeleton, so it arguably still works. This has been a paleontology nerd overthinking a silly dinosaur flavored meme about trans rights.

In all seriousness the kneecaps thing is a common (at this point, considered overused, I think) meme - it’s supposed to be a weird quirky threat that I think originated on tumblr, “I’m gonna steal your kneecaps” So it was basically just a different way of phrasing that threat, specifically threatening aphobes It’s a little hard to do asexual memes that aren’t just “better than sex amiright?” and “garlic bread and cake are OURS” (which is really just an offshoot of “better than sex”), and the better than sex thing can feel a bit exclusionary for aces who do enjoy sex and have with their partners. That’s why the person probably shot for the quirky random humour instead. More recently there has been the meme about world domination/taking over Denmark, because someone made a post saying that there are more asexuals than there are people in Denmark’s military? So that’s been adopted as something to meme about that doesn’t exclude aces with high libidos or who aren’t sex repulsed

I realized I am a transgender guy recently since I have finally stopped being in denial. I have been for as long as I remember. Even when I was around 4 I would always think to myself “I wish I was a guy.” Very confusing for a child. Then around the age of 10 I learned what being transgender was and I thought to myself “No, there is no way this is right. While this does seem accurate to how I always felt, what would people around me say?” This led to some panic for a little while. Then I tried to find a gender neutral identity even though I knew it wasn’t right. I even came out to my friends. Perhaps the feeling I felt then was guilt. Lying to myself and those who I can trust. I even came out to my parents while my mother didn’t support me at all and started criticizing the LGBTQ+ community, and my father said he would always love me, but he knew that how I was trying to identify wasn’t correct. He even said to me once when my mother wasn’t home, “If you ever find out you are transgender, just don’t tell your grandma.” He’s probably known all along. Of course now I have a preferred name and preferred pronouns which I can’t tell ANYONE about because my dumbass mother specifically told me “Stop going by that name. You’re name is (name) and your pronouns are she/her.” I do apologize for the rant but I can’t talk to anyone about this. Even the person I trust most. Only a few more years to go before I can be who I have always wanted to be. :)

On the 'are the straights okay' note, I recently saw juice 'for him' and 'her' at my local supermarket. Granted, they had different supplements added, iron and some vitamins for 'her' and magnesium and some vitamins for 'him' BUT they also had the same juice with extra iron or magnesium in their regular product range, neither specifically for 'him' or 'her'. It was so weird, like why? It's not like women wouldn't ever need magnesium or some sh*t and I don't need to be told that I'm a woman because I need some extra iron. Unless, the 'regular' juice is now the non-binary juice, would that be okay? I don't know... Let's just not gender juice.

@be_me2 жыл бұрын
@@AnachronisticAstronaut Sure, different bodies have different needs. Personally, I just felt like it is unnecessary to write it on the bottle. When I get an iron supplement from the pharmacy I doesn't say 'for her' on it either. At least not where I live. Also, technically, the iron is most important for menstruating people. Menstruation is not exclusive to people identifying as female. Furthermore, to assign the magnesium supplemented juice, which is important for muscles, to men feels somewhat stereotyped. Anyone (healthy enough to do so) can exercise and be in need of some extra magnesium. It just doesn't make sense to brand it as 'his and hers'. To me at least.

5:50 So much of this. Even when they try, they often fail very clearly. An example of this i can think of was i was out protestin against the local schoolboards discriminatory practices and a bunch of us had our pics taken by a journalist and name and pronouns taken. When the article got posted, every single passing/cis persons caption included their pronouns just casually. For us nonconformin trans folks tho, they just conveniently rewrote the script to avoid usin pronouns even when we gave them pronouns. Notably, both of us that did such did give them neopronouns; so most likely it was just a step too far and if we had asked to be called they or it, there wudnt have been a problem. But we legit explained our neopronouns and mine are as simple as "My pronouns are like she/her but replace the sh/h at the start with fa. Fae Faer Faers Faerself. (rhymes with they their theirs theirself)" and they just didnt want to use them for us and left our gender up the eye of the beholder.... Which pissed me off more than if they had just said "Hey, i dont believe in neopronouns; im gonna just call you they".

I had planned to tell my parents I was pan during pride and I got really close but then we got into an argument one day about whether or not gay is natural and my dad revealing that he still thinks my gay brother just hasn't met the right girl yet. My brain goes zippy when I argue with people and that usually results in me crying (I partly blame my sister for that one) so not much was accomplished despite my best attempts. Maybe next year. I did come out to both of my brothers so I at least made some progress. The gay one congratulated me and the straight one said he completely understood because women are pretty hot.

@The Werewolf of Somalia "I don't experience these conditions so therefore it must not be real" is not an acceptable approach to dealing with other human beings. His homophobia might not be malicious but he is acting out of self inflicted ignorance so yeah I can actually blame him for that. I love the man but his right wing victim mentality needs to change.
