I recently hit 1,000 subscribers for the channel. I wanted to take the time to thank everyone for watching and/or subscribing to give them the courage to continue on. I do talk a bit about myself and why I run the channel in addition to why I play solo. I know that most may not be interested in those details, but I wanted to do that for those watching who are interested. Sometimes it is just good to share and to get certain things "out there".
So thank you so very much, I have always thanked everyone before..and I will always continue to do so. You are are so very wonderful and I appreciate everyone. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.

Man, you’re an inspiration and I love your content. You’re the reason why I got my first solo rpg book (Fabled Lands). My only critique is I wish you would make more videos! You come off well paced, calm, and very articulate - keep going!

Hey william, that really made my night. I actually thought twice about posting the video but decided that I really just needed to put it up there. Thank you for your thoughts and encouraging words. Pacing is something that I am working on and getting better with over time ( even though it seems otherwise ). Today I actually managed to do quite a bit of recording. I have about a quarter of the D100 Space review done and plan on wrapping the initial recording tomorrow so I can start the editing process. I definitely feel you on content pacing. Your critique ( really all critique ) is some of the best kind to have I would think ;) Thank you again

@@adventuresinsolitaire I feel like I’m talking to a celebrity! I’ve watched every video you’ve put out and love them all. Almost made me choke up at the end of this video too - love your honesty and humanity. For what it’s worth had you not described some of these personal struggles I literally never would have guessed any of what you disclosed. Again, you’re so confident and well spoken that any discomfort simply doesn’t translate through your videos - I say that’s a testament to your courage! While I have you, Fabled Lands was fun but a little “light” for me… if I wanted to step up to the next level what would you recommend I try? After you talked about Legendary Kingdoms I was really intrigued - is that a good ‘step up’ if you will?

Hey William, so sorry it took so long to reply. For some reason your comment was held for review by KZbin and I had to go to a separate tab to find it. You are far to kind William and I really cannot find adequate words to show my appreciation. Thank you for your thoughts. In regards to how I look/sound on video, I have to thank video editing software and scripts ( when I use them ). Some times, if you watch closely...you can watch the table jittering. I cannot edit that out ;). That would be my nerves acting out in the way of me shaking my leg(s) under the table. I think Legendary Kingdoms is definitely a step up, especially in the way it handles the story, characters...really everything regarding the written word. But in terms of gameplay ( combat, stats, gear and die rolling ) it is really about the same. It is very hard to break away from this in game books. To push the game mechanics further you almost really need to convert to a CYOA board game like ISS Vanguard and others. But most people looking for CYOA gamebooks are looking for a lighter experience. If I had to choose Fabled lands or Legendary Kingdoms on a desert island I would probably go with Legendary Kingdoms ( especially once it was finished ). Thank you again for your support and words of comfort, and thank you for the chance for conversation :)

Hey Crinklechips ( my wife loves that name btw, she got a chuckle out of it ), I figured that it would eventually come out in time and I felt that the 1000 subscriber mark "might" be a way to share back a bit with those who have made it possible to keep making the videos. By making it possible, I mean by showing interest and watching and subscribing ( and commenting ). Without that I really would have lost interest and would have lost a HUGE part of my life. I have learned a lot about myself from commentary and running the channel. I also hoped that it might help those with similar struggles know that they are NOT alone and that it is OK. Something I am still learning and working on every day. I am getting ready to do an early game oracle/conjecture hurdle video. The early game for solo role playing can be tough for oracles and conjecture because we dont have a lot of world building established to form oracles and conjecture from. So I am going to talk about that in some detail to help with those that are new to solo role playing and those that have been doing it for a bit but just need that little "extra" to get them over the early world hump. I think I can meet you where you live in more than one way. I have been there before. I really was one of those who, while trying to make solo role playing work for me, thought that it wasn't for me. I had almost all but given up. I am glad I didn't as time, experience and resources changed everything for me. I just wish I had someone to help walk me through the various obstacles that I faced, those same obstacles that almost made me give up. What if I had given up? I would have missed out on so much. So I am trying to make content that can help those who are learning, or struggling to learn, get to a better place with their solo role playing. Thank you for allowing me to make some conversation. I dont get a lot of that ;)

I completely get the warm up, and that can be so hard to do as you have to get to know them first. It doesn't make it any easier on my end as I am in such a small town. There are zero hobby stores here and the nearest town is a bit a way. The sad thing is that I prefer the small towns. I once went to Manhattan and was blown away by what my eyes took in, but I was oh so happy to be back home in my small town. Believe it or not, I actually find solo role-playing more accessible than Four Against Darkness and other similar guided adventure/rpg titles. It wasn't always that way for sure and Four Against Darkness and others were more easily accessible. I still enjoy both but if I want to get going solo role-playing has ended up be much quicker. It took a long time to get there. In regards to solo/coop play with family, my son is coming down and that is one of the first things we are going to do. We have a game of Starforged we are going to continue, I am so excited about that. We had such a blast with that. Hi Thorlin, I really appreciate the uplifting thoughts. It is an every day moment to moment struggle for sure. It meant a lot to hear that and it helps to give me motivation to keep going. I am a member of the Solo Role Playing Guild and have not checked out Solo RPGS on your Table for some time. I tend to lurk and come back to see whats going on once or twice a month. I have commented from time to time but I tend to comment and then retreat from whence I came ;). Nothing wrong with the guild, it is all me. So can relate on some level at least ( I dont like to claim I understand what others are going through, I feel that this is never truly the case and can diminish what they are dealing with ). Although I would never want to celebrate someone else's difficulties, I think it does help to know that you are not alone. Thank you for sharing your struggles as well. @@Doubledb519 I can absolutely appreciate the need to retreat. I experience it often for different reasons. Usually it is social. I wanted to feel what it was like to be off meds again to have a base line before I tried something different. Hopefully I can find something to help with some of the imbalances I have chemically. I am so glad to hear you are working through your struggles as well and that you have avenues to pursue to help with them. I saw the thread you posted on. It seems like that is such a supportive community. I felt warm seeing the comments of inclusion, love and support. I am so, so very glad that is there. Thank you for sharing there and here as well, it has made an impact. On a side note, feel free to friend request or join the facebook group ( feel free to lurk as well ) if you ever want to talk or vent. No pressure, so please dont join or request unless it does you some good on some level.

Congratulations for putting out this video, I understand it wasn't easy but I watched it with great interest and almost cried with you at the end :) I had no idea you had these conditions, it's quite an achievement that you managed to create and develop a youtube channel and you can be proud of yourself. Also, congrats on 1K subscribers! :) On a more technical side I just wanted to ask you to please increase the volume quite a bit, as the audio level is very low. Anyway, I'm looking forward to more and more content from you in the future! :)

Hey Locutus! Its been a while. So glad to hear from you. I thought about cutting that out and re-recording the thank you segment, but I realized that the moment was honest and I prefer honesty. It wasn't easy to leave that there. It was one of those sad/happy moments....sad for the person daily struggles....happy for the amazing....amazing....amazing support from the community. The channel was started through the suggestions....and encouragement of my wife and family. It then continued on from the suggestions....encouragement and support of the community. So that was pretty moving for me. 1k was my goal to say " I can do it ". Now that I am there I will have to set new smaller goals to continually hit, maybe a larger goal as well for the future. Thank you for the congratulations there. On the note of the volume...that seems to be my Achilles heel of recording and editing. Not sure what is going on there. I know that if I spike the volume too much I start picking up background noise that is....problematic ( think neighborhood animals and cars ). At some point I HAVE to invest in sound proofing panels or walls so I can crank that volume up more. I will keep working in it. I am looking forward to creating more content. I always look forward to hearing from you Locutus...Thank you!

@@adventuresinsolitaire Yeah I don't often comment, but that one was touching, your honesty is very much appreciated and one can feel the authenticity and emotion throughout the video. And don't worry too much about the audio, I'm sure you're already doing your best. Now on to reaching the next goal! :)

I know how that can be for me, in regards to commenting. It cane even keep me from commenting in my own group. Its tough. I really appreciate you reaching out and letting me know your thoughts. I actually picked the audio on the review I am in the process of editing because of your suggestion. So too late there ;) Thank you for letting me know. If no one says anything I might think I actually fixed it. So thank you for that and yes....onward to the next goal.

God bless you. Just started listening, but I have to say I thought/think you are very articulate. Don't judge yourself too hard (had no idea about the A), and hopefully you will ignore the occasional you tube idiot! -)

Thank you Ryan, I really appreciate that. I have not had too many people trolling the channel thankfully. It can burn a little bit at first, but I move on by realizing that they dont have a full picture. I know why I do what I do and it always has good intentions and thats good enough for me. Thank you again Ryan :)
