Homeland is an edge-of-your-seat sensation. CIA officer Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) is tops in her field despite being bipolar, which makes her volatile and unpredictable. With the help of her long-time mentor Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin), Carrie fearlessly risks everything, including her personal well-being and even sanity, at every turn. You won't be able to turn away from this gripping, emotional thriller in which nothing short of the fate of our nation is at stake.

Mandy Patinkin elevates every show that he is involved in, and it is never quite as good when he leaves, such as with Criminal Minds. But the good part is that in leaving his role as Gideon on Criminal Minds, he gave us an even better acting performance as Saul Berenson in Homeland.

If by "didn't have a poorly written ending" you mean "I accept the finale's absurdity" then you're right. The finale was utterly preposterous - far beyond what the suspension of disbelief can accept. For example, Yevgeny would have had his security clearance revoked for entering into a relationship with Carrie.

She's abandoned any chance at a relationship with her daughter and family, yet she continues to do the one thing that she excels at and gives her sense of purpose..while at the same time, constantly living on the edge due to having to maintain the balance of living a double life. This is the only type of existence Carrie can function under.

Oh yes, a masterpiece. We here in Russia especially laughed about Moscow, which was filmed in Budapesht. Moscow with mountains on the horizon! Sumptuously! But this is a product for domestic American consumption. Americans are not so picky.

It was actually insane. An individual that is in and out of acute delusion for year after year and gets caught in mortal danger because of it also believes that her unchecked power and magical "judgment" should not be managed directly by her boss. Her judgment overwrites all. Because..."she was right" about all of the stupid and treasonous things that she did because...the writers...convey... that she stopped a war with Pakistan in the final episode? This is insane. PC "good intentions" should guide all! You're ruled by whoever is propagating the leftwing talking points. You don't even know who these people are or what they want.

The ending is being overhyped right now because people's emotions are running high. Overall it wasn't great and didn't feel like some sort of ending that was planned all along, but rather an ending that they came up with at the last minute. Don't fool yourself into thinking this was on the same level as Breaking Bad or something, this was okay at best.

It is one of my favorite shows. I will rewatch it multiple times in my life, I am sure. Every character was so unique - I made a unique connection with them all. I was so surprised by how consistently GOOD and high quality the show remained even through its later seasons. MASTERPIECE.
