That's not really tailgating but okay. Keep in mind wide angle lenses make things look closer than they are.

Count the time between passing a marker on the side of the road​ @hamtaroyt if you think under 1 second is a safe enough distance and doesn't equate to tailgating, then you need to revisit the HWC. I suggest you start with a revision of the 2 second rule 😉👍

The only safe and legal way, instead of crossing the solid lines, is to follow the slip road and rejoin after the junction.
