Not only is running the BEST defense tool but anything that raises your heartbeat to the level that you get a little out of breath is healthy for your body and mind! Be it walking, jogging or running (or some other type of sport). Not only that but exercising releases feel good hormones such as dopamine and other chemicals in our brain, which makes us not only happier but also gives us energy! This is why many people choose to do some sport activity before work to get them by the day much easier. But this all needs to be done in moderation of course. Too much running for example can be detrimental for health.

I once rescued a stray 70 year old who was so drunk he fell right through bushes. All that could be seen was one shoe sticking out of the bottom of the bush. At first I drove right past but caught sight in the corner of my eye so I went back expecting a corpse but he was drunk. I picked him up to his profuse apologies for being "slightly tipsy" (he was wankered) and stuck at an angle where he couldn't find anything to pull himself up. I offered him a lift home but he dusted off his old tweed jacket and went on his merry way.

Hedge wedges are a never ending obstacle when you're off your t.t's and live in the countryside with big wild hedges. I have wrestled with these bastards many times. It's not pulling yourself up that's the real problem, it's trying to push yourself out because inevitably you go further and further down into the hedge as you usually have nothing to get purchase on. The twigs and small branches of the hedge that have not already snapped when you fell, certainly do when you push down on them to get out. If you fall in forwards there's hope, even if you have to crawl out backward and take severe damage to the knees, but when you go in backwards, which always seemed to be the butter side of the toast for me, that's when you have real problems. If it's a really quiet lane you can be in there for hours, it's nice though, you can have a good think about your life choices while staring up at the stars, so long as it doesn't rain. Ahh the memories. I'm 73 now and into bed with a mug of hot milk by 2am 😉

I had so much pain in back the booze had helped supress it from a wreck at 18. I saw a doc and got on the pills. Replaced alcohol with it. To this day im still drink free and drug free minus the pacifier and new hate of being confined to subutex. 2mg. I hope you are done too my friend. Ive been lucky this med keeps me from the bottle.
