Just for fun: Yes you could do a revolving wall there. What we'd have to do is get a laminated beam to take the load and we could use a pivot shaft fixed to a reciver on the laminated beam. However the real question is can the floor joists take the load because to carry the bookcases, eyeballing at about 18 feet of bookshelf we have to have either welded or bolted steel to frame out the rotating portion of the wall. So we're talking about maybe a total of 1200 lbs of load on the central pivot point. Either that or we have to carry the shaft all the way to the basement. That adds additional top load to the shaft meaning we have to go bigger than a 6 inch steel shaft. Now I am no evil super genius but I wager I can get it done by converting the setup from a single wall rotating to 3, 6 foot rotating bookshelves which will allow the floor joists and subfloor to take the load, we won't have to run the shafts down to the shark tank sub-basement, and with 4 inch steel shafts with bearings (those will need maintenance every 3 years) I can get the job done for you for about $60,500 with permits. However if we are keeping this on the DL, I can likely get it done for only 30k if you don't mind killing the subcontractors afterwards, and before I have to pay them, because lets be honest, they'd talk.

Safety features can also just be useless and badly designed. People who designed them may never have to work with them. I' ve got my fair shares of watching areas that should have safety features, having nothing, and places that don' t need much protection, recieved too much.

I was about to comment the same. Every workplace incident I have ever seen, wasn't because the worker wouldn't want to do it safely, but because management didn't provide the means to use them safely, or straight up gives deadlines/quotas that can't be met while doing it more slowly/safely.@@Dloin

The rotating wall with a chimney in it Is totally possible if you have two pipes in the chimney, one on top of the other, inserted inside each other So the lower pipe rotates with the wall on its axsis, and the top pipe dosent move at all. Look this is very difficult to descripe without visual aids
