There's a reason why most of the greatest inventors in history, spent at least some of their lives on a farm. There are few other ways to make a living, that require a bit of knowledge and skill in so many various applications. Add to that the average farm isolated many miles from expensive support services and parts depots, is the needed formula to adapt, improvise and overcome.

Hey Tyler.... When you drop the pin down in there to tow something with.... You should always have something that helps retain that pin down in there . They can work themselves up and out of there... I know it doesn't seem possible.... But a friend of mine hooked the baler up. It has a 700 lb hitch load.,. He had just checked the PIN.. then he stopped and he was doing something back there and that hitch fell off the tractor and landed on his foot.... And there was three guys including him and tried to lift it off his foot and they could not.... It took a long time and they dug out from around it.... Using a tire iron They were out in a field somewhere.... And they started pulling on his leg.... Dislocated his toes... Had to have pins drilled in to a realign all the toes and connect them back up.... This guy is one of the smartest people I've ever known and he still had an accident. You seem safety conscious. Still another thing.... If you have too much hitch load on that style tractor it can cause the tractor to do a wheel stand and pivot all the way around 180° and crush the operator many farmers have been killed from tractors that did wheel stands and went all the way over and broke the hitch off. Farmer was not quick enough with the clutch... Accidents are very puzzling sometimes because they happen so quickly there's nothing you can do about it cuz you're right in the middle of it. The thing to do is take precautions... Think ahead ...think it through... Learn from o.p.e.(other people's experience)

It's a cautionary tale. There is a lot that just doesn't make it into the video. FTR works smart n safe - he's a husband and father, first.

Have a Merry Christmas...Put the pig feeder next to the fence so you can fill it there...one side will be against the fence but that wont matter to the pigs.

You’re very clever machining parts for implements the way you do. As I recall when growing up, my Dad did the same. Not sure where he learned it - but it was handy way back in the day when there was no such thing as express delivery. Just a small point (of course I could remember wrong) - cows don’t have upper teeth. Horses bite at their food with top and bottom teeth, but cows use their tongues to wrap and grab/pull (or scoop) at their food - grasses and grains. So cattle wouldn’t be very successful at biting the salt block. Your videos are always a joy to watch - they bring back a lot of memories for me. Thanks!

I really enjoy your transparency and hard work. My only suggestion would be to somehow get your unused equipment inside so it won’t rust. This will give you more years of use and reduce all the rust issues that you have.

When we had pigs (we had about 40), we (meaning me) first shoveled cracked corn into a large feeder from the bed of a pickup. Later we set up a small auger that we fed from a loader bucket, to fill the feeder up. Perhaps you can use that idea in the future to make filling up your feeder?
