Thankfully by the time he tried stabbing me in the head, he was swaying and lost consciousness before he could penetrate my skull or face. That’s when I knew I could escape. I didn’t put clothes on, I didn’t put shoes on. You know what I did do? I grabbed the knife out you his hand, got in a car, and drove myself to the ER, giving the knife to the police when the got to the hospital. Even after I wasn’t sure if my attacker was still alive I disarmed him because I was so terrified. I don’t think I need to tell you if I would have gifted that knife to someone who had been allegedly, horribly abusing me- you know the answer. But then again, my story is true.

Never in my life have I heard anyone giving their "abuser" a large knife or weapon.
