Because he was taking a break! Cmon!! Get with it! Doesn’t everyone who assaults people take “ breaks”? Well I guess they do. The assaulter will call out right after hitting you, “ Attention! Hear ye! Hear ye! I i’m now officially taking a break from beating you up. that was the time you can present me with more weapons of your choice.” So at this “ break” is when you give the assaulter a knife or gun. And, apparently, the assaulter will tell you , “hey I’m finished with my break it’s time for you to be scared again.” So than AFTER this break, THAN you get to be afraid. I assume if it’s a short break you guys could have coffee together. If it’s a longer break you can go on a trip. And you will know that the break is over when the assaulter tells you. Unfortunately at that point you might not be able to get the knife that you gave him back so…🤔

I didn’t put clothes on, I didn’t put shoes on. You know what I did do? I grabbed the knife out you his hand, got in a car, and drove myself to the ER, giving the knife to the police when the got to the hospital. Even after I wasn’t sure if my attacker was still alive I disarmed him because I was so terrified. It’s always bugged me the way she describes Depp around 1:03 supposedly refraining from abusing her as “he took a break.” If you were being savagely beaten, and that abuse stopped occurring for a notable length of time, would anyone refer to that respite from abuse so casually, as though she were describing taking a break from one’s keto diet, or like an adolescent couple in college pressing pause on their relationship? The tone and phrasing just reek of a kid in the principal’s office covering their lie with more lies due to other lies coming back to casting doubt on their other lie; papering alibis over excuses to patch up their story as one would patch up holes in a sinking lifeboat.

Although I do not believe her - I do disagree with you. And hopefully defense doesn't read this!! An abused person will often compartmentalize and they see their significant other as their protector/lover/champion, and abuser on separate occasions....but those two people are categorized in their mind for survival/denial/subconscious self-punishment, etc. It's not unheard of. It's simply unbelievable because we can see through it & know we would likely do things differently.

Because narcissists believe rules don't apply to them because of how awesome they think they are. Anything that they desire should be given to them on a silver platter, because according to them, they deserve everything and anything that makes them happy, even if it means breaking your heart via infidelities. But not you, you must follow the rules and must be loyal and faithful to a disloyal and unfaithful partner. It's really unbelievable how a narcissist thinks. The audacity,.. word of advice, if you are in a relationship with a narcissist or are speaking to one, cut them off and run. You'll save yourself from a vicious cycle of mental and emotional abuse. They don't love you, and more than likely, the person that you think you know, is fictional. They are the total opposite of the person that they present themselves to be. They only keep people around because they are getting something out of them. Once that person can no longer provide, she cuts them off and discards them as if they were trash. And once you start recovering and moving on, they reappear and suck you back in by love-bombing you and making you feel special, only to use you for the supply and then they get bored and discard you again. And it repeats over and over and over again.
