True. I still have the 3.0 in mine. It is a tough engine but I get slowed down in the hills with a pop up camper on the back. The extra 40 hourses from the 3.4 would be great. There are a few other engines on the short list, but the 3.0 keeps chugging.

Hell of a job man. Very detail oriented. Currently doing a tdi swap on an 80 yota. Instead of rattle canning, buy the rustoleum in the quart can and spray it from your gun. Its cheaper and way more durable. Thin it with acetone and you can use a little hardener if you want it to dry quicker.

I don't think you are taking shortcuts with the frame paint. If I'm taking the time to strip a frame it's getting powder and not paint. Especially for a truck that is not show intended. In other words yeah rattle can to cover will last well enough for what you are doing. Your effort so far at little to no cost is looking good Austin!
