Had the same with mine. Replace the brass sleeve in the hub the cv comes through. As a quick fix, and a way to grease in future, Get a spare of one of the big wheel bearing nuts, weld on a pipe about 1.5” long with a cap and put a grease nipple in it. Remove one of the two wheel bearing lock down nuts and thread on the new grease tool you made. Grease until a small amount comes through on backside. Someone actually makes and sells this tool but super easy to make!!

Was there a snapring/circlip at the end of that cv holding it in place? Maybe it's further in the hub assembly (cant remember 100%) but check that as when i first bought my truck had similar sounds bought 2 new cv's turned out just needed a set of snaprings as previous owner never put them back so cv's had way too much play.
@bryannamba15604 жыл бұрын
Yeah I noticed it was missing the C-clip on the CV axle right outside the brass bushings. The 12m bolt on the end it for the locking hubs or drive flange. Without the clip there is extra in and out play.

Me too, the TRD superchargers are coming up used fairly often so maybe he will snatch on up. Those 3.4L need all the help they can get on the low end. They are complete dogs at low rpm but make good power once you get over 3000 rpm or so.

Didn’t you say in the 1st episode of this build, that u weren’t going to put as much time, $$$ & effort in this vehicle as you did with the red Toyota? You’d have to agree, that statement is something you won’t be making again, especially if you decide to take on another similar project? I have to say, you make this type of work look a lot easier than what it is. I guess, having the knowledge & confidence to take this stuff on makes it look easy. 👍🏻🇦🇺

While she's apart, remove the body lift. Suspension lift or nothing else imo. 4" will keep your steering geometry straight and let you do 33" tires. Should you need winter rated tires, Yokohama makes a Geolandar metric equivalent. I'm also wondering about the possible missing ring as mentioned previous.

@andrewo89874 жыл бұрын
1250 idle is not normal at all for these engines. Look into getting your throttle body repaired by maxbore.com. The butterfly valve can wear down and causes a high idle. The guy will bore out your throttle body and replace the butterfly valve to fit. Of course make sure it's not your throttle cable adjustment or a long list of other possible issues.
