In Titusville Florida across from NASA the Indian River lagoon is so polluted with PFAS and sewage it's a public hazard. It's not supposed to be a "lagoon" it's supposed to be part of the Atlantic Ocean BUT Army corp of Engineers and NASA decided to cut it off and make it a huge cesspool and contamination dump. That ½ cent tax to clean it up in 2016? Someone's pocket money

This channel shouldn't surprise you , as far as their ineptitude is concerned.. It's glaringly apparent they don't prioritize accuracy or validity in the "facts" they present in these meandering, tangential video diatribes where they wander off all willy-nilly into whatever direction the topics lead and bleed into other related topics.. The main problem I have with this is the lack of verification where it seems they're merely citing other similar videos in this vein of content on this platform, prioritizing sensationalism over hard fact. Its a bad approach since it only serves to further bolster non-truths helping horseshit snowball out of control eventually ending up totally abandoning (and obscuring) any truth at all in certain examples =/ Sad, but true.. Truly.

In CT there is a lake that also has a state park on it. All of the original homes were seasonal now made year rounders, with new houses also constructed. There is no public sewer and most lots cannot support an individual system by size. Guess where it all goes? Correct, it goes in the lake. There is constant plant and algae issues and the beach gets closed for bacteria counts.

Is there much wind around the Dead Sea? The problem with these bodies of water drying up is the desiccated shoreline and lake bed which can cause dust storms but also be a breeding ground for extremophile molds that then send spores and other toxic byproducts on the wind. The Salton Sea in California, for example, is going to have to be completely remediated to avoid the potential for a dust storm that could knock out agriculture across the region in a single season.

I may have got here late, .. Why is it the "worst way of spending money ever"????
@MoonLiteNiteАй бұрын
Because, you are spending money on something that already exists. You are doing this in the name of "saving" something, that already exists. Now, nobody can see this thing that exists, and it will last longer. Meanwhile, you wasted money and resources, on making something else that will slowly be destroyed as people see it. Like, just let them see the one that is already made, and is actually real and not fake

Why would our excretions taint the water anymore than the water life already residing there? Don't most of the mammals that call the water home urinating in it? I know that elephants, etc. don't hesitate to pee where they stand (who's going to stop them?). Is our urine that more dangerous or contain something that theirs don't? It's mostly uric acid.

Humans are large animals in large concentrations. Imagine if there were as many bears and moose and mountain lions as there were humans? The waste would be everywhere. The amount of waste they create can’t be naturally processed by bacteria without the bacteria sucking all the oxygen out of the water and killing everything.
@Erichev6 ай бұрын
@@jmay342 Is this possibly just a pessimistic way of looking at the world? The Earth seems to cope with much of what humans have done to it. Just a thought. I'm all for protecting the coral reefs and all of the sea. I just think the trash we put in it is a much bigger concern than excretions.

I would like to say something about ban signs. I feel they are a green light to some people. It's just an idea, but if you put up a sign explaining why there is a ban at the same time you might appeal to human conscience. I know you'll argue some people will still not care. But I believe that human morality is more complex than that. I think a person will not hesitate to break a law if perceived that law stops them from having fun or getting upvotes. But if they understand that they are endangering a species they'll back off. And feel respected rather than governed. If you put up a WARNING please also take the next step to put up an additional sign that explains the warning. Or even a link to a website so people can watch vids like this and feel sorry for the birds or w/e. It would tame down the human rebel if they understood why they're suppose to care. Instead of treating everyone like they're an inmate eliciting jail behavior.
