Actually, the more explicit autopsy scene is in the unrated cut, the theatrical cut didn’t show John’s “jigsaw.” That being said, even the theatrical version of the autopsy is graphic enough to disturb/traumatize a kid. Both cases of a “wrong film playing” were extra unlucky considering they were two of the most violent and graphic films in the series.

I was just telling my buddy about this video on the way back from the theater today. He Started laughing hysterically… Apparently his family went to go see Cheaper by the Dozen 2 when it came out in ‘05, but was instead greeted by Saw II in all its fly trap glory! He said that the theater apologized and provided free passes for a future movie. Unfortunately I can’t find any articles about it, but he’s not the kinda guy that just makes that stuff up, so I believe there’s truly been a full run of the Saw swap trilogy.

I remember my mom saying that the trailers before the movie were a bit dark for a kids movie. I also remember the Lionsgate intro playing and the twisted pictures intro playing then my mom proceeding to rush my family out as fast as she could. This is honestly a bigger occurance then you might think. As someone who works in a movie theater, these mistakes happen at least once every couple of months. In fact, on October, the DAY the FNaF Movie launched, we had a bunch of theaters that weren't playing the right movie. A romance movie was playing SAW, FNaF was playing Nightmare Before Christmas, it was a mess. Thankfully we also handed out refunds to those who asked, and free movie vouchers next time they came in.

I remember the Theater I went to as a kid had a Projectionist error. Went to see Disney's Enchanted in 2007 or 2008, and another movie started playing. No I don't remember which movie, and after confusion and notifying an employee we got the movie swapped in a few moments. Something similar happened to me once. Thankfully not with SAW. I was going to see Despicable Me when I was a little kid, and instead the movie showed some dumb Jonas Brother’s movie or something. My family and I walked out. As boring as it might’ve been I’ll take it over being traumatized! Also holy frick, I feel awful for those kids. Yeah I have a much more minor "wrong film playing" story. I went with a friend to see Shazam, and an opening scene of a kid's family getting into a car crash played and it cuts forward to Jean Grey, at that point I realize they were playing X Men Dark Phoenix on accident. This happened to me in the days when movies were still shown on film - I'd booked to see a horror movie, but they threaded up a kids movie by mistake. Thankfully a member of staff realised something was wrong when she saw the kids advert/trailer reel playing, and they were able to stop it before the movie came on.

Something similar happened to my when I was in the second grade except it happened at school in class. I remember it was near the end of the year and our teacher decided to put The Jungle Book on the projector but instead started playing some kind of 18+ violent animated movie on KZbin that had absolutely nothing to do with animals or jungles or anything that could be confused for The Jungle Book. We, a class of crying seven year olds tried to tell her that it wasn’t the right movie but she DIDN’T BELIEVE US?? She insisted that we were lying and just being sensitive. I actually left the room at one point bc the film was so violent and she MADE ME COME BACK IN AND WATCH IT. IT HAD A COMPLETELY NAKED WOMEN BEING TORTURED AND SHE INSISTED IT WAS THE JUNGLE BOOK. About 15-20 minutes in (the teacher was still sitting near me making sure I didn’t run out of class again) she muttered to herself “wait maybe this isn’t the jungle book” and THEN she finally put on some other movie I think it was Peter Pan or something. It is the only story I remember about this teacher because she left the school the next year.

This actually happened to me in an AMC in Florida when I was 5. Aunt took me to see bee movie, guy at the counter tells us a theater, sign says Bee Movie, ads start and my aunt attempts to shield my eyes but I peek through her fingers to see what I now know as Alien Vs Predator 2, she finally puts 2 and 2 together and leaves the theater with me to talk to the guy, directs us to new theater that has the movie we wanted.

@@ripdalt Personally I really enjoyed Saw: The Final Chapter. I think there's a lot to like about it. The only problem for me is the cheap 3D effects (same problem Final Destination 4 has). Otherwise, I think it's a stronger Saw entry. It has some great traps and a good amount of emotion packed into it, along with finally seeing the Reverse Bear Trap payoff

I worked for a movie theatre and this happens from time to time. It’s a lot easier to fix now that everything is digital but was a nightmare on film. The manager told me their best story of this happening was some church group coming in to see whatever kids’ movie was out at the time but the projectionist started “I Heart Huckabees” by accident. Go look up the opening scene of that movie and you’ll immediately see why that was a problem lmao

Reminds me of a story I heard about a cinema down in Australia that was screening Peter Rabbit and it showed a trailer for Ari Aster's Hereditary. Funnily enough, a year later in 2019, I was at the Alamo Drafthouse Park North in San Antonio, and I was waiting to see Spider-Man: Far From Home, and I looked over, and in one of the forked hallways leading to two showrooms right next to each other, there was one room screening Toy Story 4 and the other one right next to it was screening Midsommar, Ari Aster's second feature film, and I laughed while hoping to God that no little kid made a wrong turn while coming back from the bathroom.

I actually experienced a mixup like this myself during a film festival (an english event where for all of november, you can see A LOT of movies in cinemas for free if you bring a kid), but thankfully MUCH less severe. We just got the native japanese version of kiki's delivery service, then after a few minutes, the mixup was sorted, then we got the english dub we wanted.

@@d1kgaws12 I found the story out on the radio show, called Simon Mayo’s Confessions, where listener write in there funny Confessions. This confession was called Martins cinema scream. The reason why the projections got the other projectionist fired, is because he always kept show up for work, late with a hangover and constantly took breaks to have a smoke. This was stressful with films constantly starting late or out of sync.

This reminds me of the time I went to a party for my cousins birthday at my local AMC. It was 2013 and she wanted to see frozen so that’s what we all did, my uncle graciously paid for all the tickets and we sat down waiting for the movie to start, but when it did it definitely wasn’t Frozen. We were hit by a dude having intercourse with a pregnant woman. I honestly don’t know what movie that we saw (I was only like 8) but I remember my uncle yelling at the staff about it. A similar situation happened to me when my parents took me to see Transformers (2007). At first nobody noticed anything because the first two trailers were green band, but then the next few were all red band horror movie trailers. After the second trailer a bunch of people went to go complain and they stopped the movie before it actually came on. It was weird, instead of just playing the correct movie, they just made everyone leave the theater, gave us a refund and let everyone just walk into whatever movie was playing.
