Actually, the more explicit autopsy scene is in the unrated cut, the theatrical cut didn’t show John’s “jigsaw.” That being said, even the theatrical version of the autopsy is graphic enough to disturb/traumatize a kid. Both cases of a “wrong film playing” were extra unlucky considering they were two of the most violent and graphic films in the series.

I was just telling my buddy about this video on the way back from the theater today. He Started laughing hysterically… Apparently his family went to go see Cheaper by the Dozen 2 when it came out in ‘05, but was instead greeted by Saw II in all its fly trap glory! He said that the theater apologized and provided free passes for a future movie. Unfortunately I can’t find any articles about it, but he’s not the kinda guy that just makes that stuff up, so I believe there’s truly been a full run of the Saw swap trilogy.

@@ripdalt I’m that buddy! As a tradition my family and I would go see a movie on the last day of school, and we decided to go see cheaper by the dozen 2 in 2005. I remember my mom saying that the trailers before the movie were a bit dark for a kids movie. I also remember the Lionsgate intro playing and the twisted pictures intro playing then my mom proceeding to rush my family out as fast as she could. We got to still see cheaper by the dozen in a different theater and got free tickets for a future movie😂

Something similar happened to me once. Thankfully not with SAW. I was going to see Despicable Me when I was a little kid, and instead the movie showed some dumb Jonas Brother’s movie or something. My family and I walked out. As boring as it might’ve been I’ll take it over being traumatized! Also holy frick, I feel awful for those kids. They just wanted to see the Bee movie and instead saw a dead naked man’s gross body parts. I can’t even imagine how scared those other kids felt when another SAW movie played and they saw torture scenes. Yikes…

Yeah I have a much more minor "wrong film playing" story. I went with a friend to see Shazam, and an opening scene of a kid's family getting into a car crash played and it cuts forward to Jean Grey, at that point I realize they were playing X Men Dark Phoenix on accident. We went out and told the movie staff, eventually they got it fixed and we could watch Shazam... which also has an opening scene following a kid whose family gets in a car crash.

This actually happened to me in an AMC in Florida when I was 5. Aunt took me to see bee movie, guy at the counter tells us a theater, sign says Bee Movie, ads start and my aunt attempts to shield my eyes but I peek through her fingers to see what I now know as Alien Vs Predator 2, she finally puts 2 and 2 together and leaves the theater with me to talk to the guy, directs us to new theater that has the movie we wanted.

A similar situation happened to me when my parents took me to see Transformers (2007). At first nobody noticed anything because the first two trailers were green band, but then the next few were all red band horror movie trailers. After the second trailer a bunch of people went to go complain and they stopped the movie before it actually came on. It was weird, instead of just playing the correct movie, they just made everyone leave the theater, gave us a refund and let everyone just walk into whatever movie was playing.

Otherwise, I think it's a stronger Saw entry. It has some great traps and a good amount of emotion packed into it, along with finally seeing the Reverse Bear Trap payoff

I've never been a fan of the SAW movies, nor gore in media in general and as I've growing older, I stay away from that as much as possible, but this is despite everything, quite an interesting case, it's honestly weird but at the same time kind of funny that they messed up twice with the same franchise, with the same company that created the kids' movies. Never ever even heard about the whole thing with Paw Patrol and SAW but reminds me of the same joke when Animal Crossing: New Horizons and DOOM Eternal were announced. Pretty interesting video tho!

the Saw movies don't immediately start out with graphic torture, and 50 Shades doesn't immediately start with sex scenes. in both of these scenarios, kids would just see grown ups talking and be confused and bored. neither of these events would be anywhere near as scandalous as people try to make them out to be.

I mean...I went from 2001: A Space Odyssey (age 5), to The Exorcist (age 12), to Neon Genesis Evangelion and Reservoir Dogs (age 13-14), to Naked Lunch (age 17), to Twin Peaks (age 18), to Salo and Martyrs by age 19. I thought that 2001: A Space Odyssey was a weird, quiet, boring Star Trek, for ages. My godfather loved sci-fi. Clearly, no one really cared what I was watching, or how I even obtained it. The Exorcist was a VHS tape. I had my own Netflix account when they first started, back when they sent physical DVD's.

I’ve heard plenty of other stories involving theaters that accidentally showed horror films to kids - The Hills Have Eyes 2 instead of The Last Mimzy, Saw 3D instead of Megamind, Paranormal Activity 4 instead of Madagascar 3, La Llorona instead of Detective Pikachu; think of the children! Oh right, I’ve also watched Happy Tree Friends at that age.
