@@NimhLabs Bowser has been refereed to as a he ever since the original Nintendo Power issues. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a booklet that came with the original NES cartridge that had a description of all the characters in the game. The Legend of Zelda had a similar booklet that game with the game that featured a description of every item and monster in the game which included their names as well.

This story of Nintendo micromanaging the shit out of Bowser's appearance makes the story of Mario + Rabbids more amazing. Essentially, Ubisoft decided to offer a crossover to Nintendo, so they made their own Mario models so they had something to show Nintendo when they made the actual partnership offer. Apparently, when they did, the Nintendo representative went "What the shit, where did you get these models? They are so close to the real thing, you must have gotten your hands on some of ours"

That bit about your father throwing away that Super Scope reminded me about how my parents made me sell our NES when I wanted to buy a Gamecube. Must had been around 2004, because I remember wanting it mostly for Paper Mario 2. The thing is, we actually had two of them (because the only copy of Super Mario bros. 2 we found was on a flea market sold with a console) and my parents just told me to pack it with the other one even though the advert hadn't mentioned we had two of them.

7:59 - 8:07 Exactly. You get Sonic and Bowser from SSB4, put them next to each other and compare the heights. You use the Sonic model from SSB4, which if I'm not mistaken is the same or at least very similar to a Sonic model from a different game, and put next to Robotnik from that game. I don't quite know what you would do for M. Bison or Zangief but there's 3D models of them out there somewhere so Disney could just compare them.

Man sometimes I feel really old. Sometimes really young. I was born in 1994. I grew up with the ps1 and n64. When I was 5 my parents got divorced and my mom lost the PlayStation. A year later she got with my genesis having stepdad. I spent most of my childhood playing sonic. Also a game with earnest in the title. I forgot the other word He had a whip though? My cousin had an snes, n64 and eventually xbox. We used to play mario kart, donkey Kong, several main series mario games etc. We even played duck hunt I remember for my 12th birthday I got a gamecube and sonic adventure battle 2. I was so confused because my cousin told me for years that sonic is sega and mario is Nintendo and you had to "pick a side" and only play one. But it was Nintendo and Sega and sonic. It even played zelda..I understood nothing about how that worked for -years-. And I certainly don't remember competitive commercials. But I remember my cousin playing snes with the controller upside Down for No reason other than learning it that way. Half the time unplugged too, cause I cheated at taking turns.

Dr. Robotnik's canon height is 6'1. Bowser's height isn't actually a consistent thing, but it's almost always way above that. And if you google "bowser height" ..... the first thing that comes up is a Kotaku article titled "Bowser is only four feet tall, judging by Luigi's penis".
