If the compressor was pushing oil, check the air dryer, and at least change the filter and clean it out. Make sure the purge valve is good too (not expensive), that will F up soon as it gets real cold. 👍 Good job.

You do so much work on your truck and hard to tell how much money you are saving yourself. Amazing what you are willing to do to keep yourself on the road.

gasket maker and silcone (starts to set up when air hits it)are two different things, gasket maker (grape jelly anaerobic sealant) will not harded unless the air is cut off (smashed between two parts), 60 series is one of the easiest air compressors to do, your valve cover is most likely the football gasket or cam caps leaking, to get the valve cover off just push the pipe over with one hand, if your hoses are good no worries, if it is hardened you might want to replace it, clean (drain) the ping tank daily for a couple of weeks to get the oil out of your system, then install a quart of air brake antifreeze in a tank and prepare for the winter, it only takes a small amount of oil to make all the rubber parts in your air system break down and leak,

Do yourself a favor and never reuse those spring type hose clamp. They get weak after awhile and with pressure on the hose it could back off and dump whatever is in the system. Not worth the savings of a $2.00 gear clamp in my opinion. Thanks for the videos.

How many bolts hold it there in the front? I'm actually doing mine now I just about got it out but it feels like 1 is still holding on

Aside from your old leaky air compressor being difficult to remove due to the sheer weight of it at 70 lbs, that must have been one quick and easy job.

Fresh rebuild and the valve cover is leaking I’d be worried about the mechanic ability’s that inframe on the engine.
@willmann303 жыл бұрын
I have to agree. For a fresh rebuild he is wrenching too much on that non emission block. I understand sh*t happens but damn.

Wouldn't putting a old gear on void the warranty?
@otrookie3 жыл бұрын
I’m not too worried about warranty really they also said no gasket maker it voids warranty, using paper one I’m just not a fan of
