1) Shorten your to do list to 3 pd. THat is 21 tasks per week. That is a lot! 2) Prioritize your sleep. Less sleep means less productivity. (Gold nugget: "Energy is more important than time, Because time will do you no good if you don't have the energy to use it") 3) Use time effectively. Use a timer with a max. of just 2 minutes. 4) Family cleaning day. Get everyone involved. Brain dump a list, assign tasks. Make it fun 5) Limit distractions. Silence your notifications. Remove it out of reacht 6) You drink coffee wrong. Drink it a half hour before you crash. 7) Rotate your kids toys. it wil refresh their attention. 8) Teach them to entertain themselves. 9) Say no. Prioritize. 10) Don't forget to have fun!!!
@wendyisgrowinginwisdom63502 жыл бұрын
Regarding teaching self entertainment in children: I really like the priority of spending time with them first and then teaching them that they can depend on you to get back to them at the agreed time. This is a trust building exercise. Love it!

Love the brain dump list and to-do list idea... they are definitely not the same and you're right, narrowing down is the way to go. We moms have unrealistic goals lol

In my experience, husbands, mothers, sisters, and in-laws contribute to that. It took 26 years to teach my husband that I'm not Superwoman with a time machine. And my grandmother (a farm wife) used to give my mom headaches because my working mom's housekeeping never lived up to my grandmother's standards. The struggle is real.

Regarding Toys: We were fortunate to have a council that provided a toy library that ran out of the book library. Loans were for 1 month and you only paid a small monthly membership to cover maintenance/admin. If toys were lost or broken then you had to pay for replacement but other than that we found having a toy library a great help.

I just found your channel today and your realness is refreshing! I am sooo sick of seeing the moms on here and their perfectly pretty everything bc it makes me feel like I’ll never catch up or get to that level of tidy. Most of them have homes that look like they don’t even have kids living in them. Well, that’s what they show us at least. I love learning from moms like you, (moms like me) that actually have dust and forgotten food in Tupperware and kid toys laying around, and how to battle it all while trying to keep our sh*t together.

Great tips and I can tell you that they really work! My kids are 11 and 15 years now and I always had time for me when I payed attention to the things you mentioned. We do our weekly Homeblessing together and my kids can do everything that is needed to take care of a home. Of course I have to tell them what to do next but they know HOW to do it. It is so relaxing for me now. It is hard to teach them sometimes because it takes more time than to do it by yourself. Great thing is, it will pay off!

I haven't had ANY caffeine since July of this year. I use to drink caffine all day everyday. New years this year I decided to decrease my intake to be healthier. I noticed I started sleeping better & I felt physically & mentally better. I decided to quit cold turkey after that. The difference was completely mind blowing to me!!! I have thyroid issues... and I discovered that caffine/sugar is a trigger for my flare ups. When I have caffeine, I can't sleep, I get headaches, my joints absolutely kill me & I seem to be constantly sleepy... & definitely less productive. I'm much better off without caffine. I do miss my coffee 😭😭💔 I have yet to find a nice cup of decaf...

My mom used to do this thing where she read to me and after a certain time / paragraph she would say something like "to be continued .... After I've unloaded the dishwasher / made myself a cup of coffee" this gave me a timeframe I could understand at a young age and I would wait patiently. Most of the time 😁

My mom always has Time and Energy I'm 15 and I obey my mom to the max, she is the one that is in total control. Everyday, I come home from school and the 1 st thing I do, is give her my phone...don't want any distractions, then I do my homework, then all the chores for that day, which must be done to my moms satisfaction. Then I do whatever she tells me to do with no back talk or arguing. On the weekends, I do want she wants me to do, Before I have my "Free time"

I am just thinking about how frustrating it is. When you talk to a mom whose kids are grown: "I wish I had spent less time worrying about my house!" Meanwhile, my husband, my parents, the in-laws: "But look at your house...!" You-all's kids must not be the whirling tornadoes mine are. I bought a countdown timer, planning to use it for everything I did. My firstborn son ruined it within about 3 months, despite all attempts to keep it out of his reach. Have not yet regained the good faith (or recovered well enough) to buy another.

I rotate toys by category. Like play kitchen and food, cars/pawpawtrol, Legos and bricks, stuffed animals. They only play with one category at a time this helps keep things clean. It teaches them how to respect their toys and keeps the toys new and fun. sometimes they'll have the same category for a couple days and then I switch it out depending on how they are doing.
