2024 Suzuki V-Strom 800 RE | The Perfect Road-Going All-Rounder?

Had one as a loan bike albeit the DE .liked it as you say a great all rounder . Well built and a bit of fun .

Main thing NOT to say on a first date to your pillion: "You settle the bike down very nice". Main thing NOT to say on a first date to your rider: "You have big grab handles". If you don't ride off road at all I would consider the SV650 with a small Puig wind screen. Only minus is that you will never be able to fit a cruise control if you want one. I got mine used in May and have ridden 9000 km on it including a camping trip to Harz.

done 2.5k tour spain and portugal on one of these great bikes in all all conditions as fast as you like to 100mph thats enough for me 3 years warranty and if you get it serviced at a suzuki center after that up to 7 years or 70000 miles its a no brainer at the price point

Glad you like it Simon as i purchased a ex demo in same colour in june , have fitted a pipe werx exhaust as standard was a bit quiet , by the way did see you and amy at Ashbourne races in October but i was a bit timid to say hello .

I think there’s some aftermarket options for screens, cruise would be nice but I guess it keeps the price down. The engine is perfect

Your right Simon,That engine sounds perfect and so smooth. Terrible high frequency vibrations at 5k, high level of heat from catalytic converter, heavy, less comfort than on DE.

I didn’t find the vibration any issues but then again I ride a single Himi 450, I’ve not riden the DE on road so maybe a comparison would be good

@@thatbikersimon Incredible you do not feel it 🙂 Really incredible... Both motorcycles would be amazing (great raw look, brilliant display, superb sound, and incredible riding comfort on the DE), but the mistakes they made while designing them are unforgivable: terribly heavy, overly soft suspension, high catalytic converter temperature, and those high-frequency vibrations that cause tingling in your right leg.
