I’d like to see all manufacturers produce bikes with a purposeful front mudguard, currently only Royal Enfield make a mudguard that will prevent the engine and header pipes from getting covered in stone chips should you venture off road. Given the state of UK roads, having something more useful would be a good idea for normal road bikes.

Looks like a fun bike, love to take for a trial ride. I don't really think BMW is concerned about the pricing of the Himalayan 450 or Triumph 400x. They will view themselves above those brands in every respect and charge a BMW premium as they usually do. I suspect this bike will be priced same price as the Tenere 700

In the era of to many bikes choices and finally saturated market BMW should be happy to keep afloat and they will be able to that only by being competitive . My BMW f650gs twin 800cc from 2010 y weight 199 on wet. -9 kg difference with this power doesn't look like "wow" effect. Same size of the tires, much higher 82.5cm vs 88cm? No passenger seat.. So what makes this bike better than my old bike from year 2010? Big TFT screen, better look? I hope the final version will propose something better than this..

I have a new f900gs and even i'm looking with interest at this bike. I want to remain part of the BMW GS community (to do Safari's etc) and i'm always thinking lighter is better as i'm more offroad and light enduro focussed rather than banging out big distances in the outback etc ... i think this bike will really attract a new cohort of BMW riders who also want to be part of that ... plus in Aus we get a 5 year comprehensive warranty which is piece of mind etc ... yes it will cost more than all the other 450's ...but thats going to be the case for premium brands for a while yet as the industry goes through significant change ... i was actually waiting for speculated r12gs to appear (and it didnt) and this one just came out of nowhere ...

Im indian and this will be manufactured by our motorcycle company called TVS woth whom BMW have a parternship. The current bmw G310 GS and its road version are made by TVS. The G310 GS sat between the old himalayan 411 and tlcloae to the ktm 390 adv. This will definitely be pricier than a himalayan 450 but maybe similarly priced as the upcoming ktm 390 adv. The first bike i really am interested from BMW. Even the new F900 GS. These two look sleek and lightweight than the bigger behemoths.

If it’s a concept bike isn’t it a contradiction to say that it is ready to go into production in 2025? I don’t think that bike, if it does ever make it into the showrooms, will ever be in the same sector of the marketplace as bikes like the 450 Himalayan so is it fair to call it a competitor? If it does get made it will no doubt be more desirable than anything in the current BMW lineup to adventure riders who want a light compact motorcycle that is useable off the tarmac and gravel tracks but it will come at a premium price. Before anyone gets carried away let’s remember that it’s a concept not a pre-production model.

If the production bike is remotely close to this. It will likely stomp the Himalayan. As it stands, it is 40 lbs lighter as a twin. Comparing this to the Himalayan is like comparing a KLR to a DR650. That is not a good comparison. Overall its intriguing.

Sound is not something to engineer for. I'd rather have 360degs for even forces applied by both cyls. The power stroke should equate to the intake stroke of the other cylinder. Power+intake Exhaust+compression Intake+power Compression+exhaust Symmetry.

This is what I think BMW should do: This should replace the rather aging G310R and G310GS Make this concept a F450GSA Then bring out a F450GS with a lower chasis, street tires, a lower exhaust, cast wheels with spokes as an option

Let's not forget BMW no longer offers a manual to work on these newer bikes yourself. You must take it in to the dealer. Guarantee that bike will be a couple thousand more than the competition. Probably 9k

This has got to be the the best looking adventure bike I've ever seen. However, (unless they change it) having no adjustability on the front is absolutely nonsensical for such a premium bike. Since its obviously more offroad capable compared to their other bikes, it would be nice to see more suspension travel, ground clearance and more protection on the belly.

Well this is a concept bike so they might just change it up a bit before launch, but yes is a fine line if keeping the price down and having some premium parts. I also would like to see a 21in front wheel and adjustable suspension.

Dont get too excited, if these make it to production these are gonna come out against NX500, TRK 502 etc. and they sell for 7-8L on-road. Will be double the price of the Himalayan easily since its a parallel twin and 'BMW'. They wont let you work on it yourself so expect a hefty service bill too. They have to bring normal seats like the other GS's or it will not sell in places like India where the priority is more touring than hardcore motocross. I dont think it will be manufactured by TVS since this seems to be 100% made by BMW inhouse, no collaboration. In India prices should be 8-10L On-Road.

Too little too late, I think. The 2 main competitors RE Himalayan 450 & CF Moto MT450 both have 21” front & both have sub 830mm seat heights with free or relatively cheap options to lower to 800 or increase to 870mm I think BMW are resting on their reputation a little too much especially when the competition are sub 6.5k & this will probably come in beyond 7.5k
