I can see that the UK police are as incompetent and lazy as police here in the US. They were handed this guy on a silver plate and said, no thank you, we have this. Three more people had to die before taking this serious, that sound like cops here in the US for sure. I wonder if cops in the UK always eat donuts too. One time I heard why the connection between cops and donuts. For many years, donut shop were the only places open late very early hours because they had to have everything prepared before people are off to work in the early morning. For this reason, donut shops were robbed more often, so they would offer free coffee and donuts to cops in order to entice them to hang around their shops, which did work to lessen robberies. This also added inches to the waistline of the police in general, which explains why they lowered the standard for the weight of cops. I see so many obese cops who would have been kicked off the force forty years ago, unless they lost some of that weight. Instead they had to raise the weight limit for officers, or they’d have a very small force.

Mike - One thing I've always liked about your uploads is that you usually have the victims' names in the title, mentioned repeatedly, or shown in photos throughout the video. I know that most people recognize these cases by the perpetrator's name or moniker, but it's good to keep reminding people of the who the victims were -- in honor of their memory and out of respect to their family. Whether the victims were considered to be "good" or "bad" people (too often judged by their occupation, status in life, or color of their skin rather than their character), they were a human being, someone's loved one, someone's child... They did not deserve to be brutally killed by someone, no matter where they may have been picked up or found by the killer. Thanks for keeping the focus on them. *I hope you don't stop being different* than every other true crime KZbinr! That, plus your humor in the right places, makes That Chapter my favorite place to get my true crime fix!

I have a crazy twist to add to this story. I was just watching a TV show in Brazil, where I live, and one of the guests told the story of when he decided to check on his ex-boyfriend, who he lived with for a month. Well, years after leaving the guy and coming back to Brazil, he found out where the man was: in prison, for killing guys like him. I was in shock when he said the name of the man because I instantly recognized from this video. So, yeah, he found out he survived a serial killer. Crazy.

@@GiDD504 it's both dangerous and exaggerated hahaha It kinda depends on where you are. Some states are less safe than others, but sometimes within a same neighborhood you'll need to know what streets to avoid. Some judges are better than others. The judge is Brent J. Brents' case was brutal but professional. Same for another pedophile who raped and murdered a young girl. I have to say I'm very impressed by the editing and the amount of (actual, derived-from-real-life footage) b-roll included in these videos. It's top-notch, and makes the content stand out above other KZbin channels with similar subject-matter. It's creepy and downright disturbing to see other presenters using stock images and even content from film and TV show trailers to provide visual background to their narrative. Ugh, it's so, so wrong. Of course, Mike's excellent delivery and sardonic sense of wit is magnetic. It's not an easy kind of thing to do, considering the solemn nature of these videos, but he manages it so well that it appears natural and easy. Anyway, I just wanted to note how much I appreciate the production values and the narrative delivery here. I admit the subject matter can get to be quite a downer, yet it's also fascinating; I feel as if I'm intuitively earning how to avoid toxic traps others set when intending to manipulate.

Hi Mike, dunno if you’ll see this, but I can tell you why the interview audio is weird / inaudible: One of the audio channels has its signal polarity reversed - I verified this by using a tool to download your video and examining it in Audacity. When listening in stereo, the reversed polarity gives an uncomfortable feeling, but it’s still audible. However, when a device tries to convert the audio signal to mono, this will result in the left and right audio channels adding to zero, thus cancelling each other out, resulting in a mono signal that contains only the tiny differences between the left and right channels in the original signal. This would explain why many people said using headphones fixed the sound. (For me it did not, as I normally have my iPad set to mono mode, but setting it back to stereo mode fixed it). Anyway, thanks for the video, sorry for the long explanation…
