Until they were ready to handle her dirty work for her. I can't believe the jury bought her lies! I mean come on! When they told her it was done, she didn't cry about what they did to her mom, she Cried about The VAN!!!! An inanimate object!!! For crying out loud!!! If that doesn't spell out Guilty I don't know what does! What an absolute disgrace!!! I'm so tired of seeing "people" get away with things like this! With little to no consequences!!! Maybe because you're basing your opinion on a 20 minute youtube video and the 24 people that were impaneled on both juries had the totality of the evidence presented with which to make their decisions. Based on this video I would agree with your opinion but both juries disagree. I'm guessing that the evidence presented was not damning. Like, what teenager hasn't told their friends/partners they wished their parents were dead? It doesn't look like the prosecution had substantive evidence that she was actively involved in the planning of the actual murder beyond a reasonable doubt, which is the burden of proof in a criminal case.

I don't recall it being stated there were texts and emails recovered of her encouraging or arranging the murder of her mother. I recall the officer saying they had recovered the computers of all three of them and that just because something is deleted doesn't mean it can't be recovered, but not anything about there being any that actually showed that. Did I miss something? If it were the case that such evidence was shown in court I can't understand how only 2 people in the first trial were willing to convict and the jury in the second trial only found her guilty of criminally negligent homicide and not at least conspiracy to commit murder.

You cannot just say '' i don't like voice, i think she's acting'' and thats it. t not saying there's no chance, just reasonable doubt. Being annoying pos in a police interview is not enough. They need text of her mentioning at least something. i.e she wants her mom gone.. These two witnesses are so easy for the defense to knockdown.... Seriously the comments here are why defense attorney's don''t want you ever talking. Some people will just decide your acting (when you aren't) and send you away to jail for 100 years. some people i,e a whiny teen come off badly naturally. That girl blogging that her mother had been murdered so she had no access to her computer as it was taken by the cops...not even a sad face emoji! Best line.

I recall seeing the trial on CourtTV or some such show and the dad stood up for the daughter and not his wife. He remarried faster than you could turn around. It was pretty sad for Lauri. Seems no one in her family especially cared about her.

I didn’t know the dad remarried. That is really sad. You would think if you were married and had a child at least two people in the world love you. RIP Lauri.

This reminds me of the Marlene Olive case in Marin County, California in the 1970s. Ms. Olive, 16, & her boyfriend, 20, killed her parents & burnt up the bodies in a barbecue pit. A book called "Bad Blood" was written about it. This would be an interesting case in for you, Mike- you're so good at this! Thanks so much for all you do.

I read that book too! Crazy kids!! Just jokin

That book was pretty incredible in the amount of detail it provided - I assume the author had to have interviewed both Chuck and Marlene, since it was so in-depth about their mental states and reconstructed their day-to-day lives. The only frustrating thing about the book was that no photos were provided, and I haven’t really turned up many by searching online. I don’t know if Mike would be able to find enough footage to do this one.

As much as I love Mike and his content it's almost depressing that he could upload once a day for the next 50 years straight and he still wouldn't run out of content. As bizarre, depraved and nonsensical some of these cases are they happen every single day.

I wish he would do more non-usa/canada cases, there is some really wild shocking cases from just other english speaking countries alone. I guess he does the U.S because that's where most of his viewers are from.

@@AspireGMD That could be true man but Idk. It's harder to talk about grief when it's closer to home. I'm from the North and talking about that shit isn't something you do- no matter what side you're on.
