I do admit it’s a good theory, but ultimately, endgame took the right path, it was definitely more cinematic and touching for tony to die and cap to go back in time to be with Peggy, that’s a great way to end a story, if it had happened the way you’re saying, cap would’ve died, and tony would’ve gone back to his family, and since his contract is up and he’s done I guess he would just retire in the mcu and we wouldn’t get to see him or have him in the movies. So I do think marvel took the right route in endgame finishing both of their stories rather than just one

maybe Tony dies in End Game and Cap can't live with that, so to get his peace of mind, Dr. Strange or any other "time travel capable" person brings him back to the past so he can live his quiet life with Peggy, with the knowledge that he actually CAN change Tony's future (the end of End Game) by altering his past (his youth, his relation with his dad, ...) that way they can both end Evans' contract on a high note AND avoid the question "yeah, but where is Stark in all this? Doesn't he have a history of just coming back whenever necessary?" in future MCU films.

Now that I’ve watched this, I think it’s Stark who sacrifices his life. I think Cap somehow gets left back in the time he came from, and his happy ending is that he gets the dance he missed out on in the original MCU timeline. That’s his “retirement”.

And they don't mean his last mission before his sacrifice, but his LAST mission as Cap in Endgame and the man he saves is the Steve that lost everything? He'd have to avoid screwing things up, but it's doable.

No matter how often I think Steve can return to Peggy and have that dance, I don’t see any way he can stop fighting injustice. That is who Cap is. No matter what time, what realm, what universe, Cap will always be Cap - a man who fights evil with everything he is. So, if he does go off to live with Peggy, he will still fight the enemies of the people. Also, Steve is superhuman. Do we know what his ultimate weakness is? Can he physically be killed? Thanos hit him with the force of the power stone and he lived! Even jumping off the Volmir cliff might not kill him. After all, Red Skull who also was injected with an earlier version of the serum still lives after touching the tesseract, zooming through space to a wasted planet, and breathing the atmosphere on the barren lands of Volmir. Steve may not be able to die like mere mortals. Maybe the sacrifice will be accepted by the soul stone even though Steve can’t die but because he didn’t know he can’t die from it. I still think that whatever sacrificial action takes place, the sentient soul stone will reward the still living Cap with Peggy somewhere in the soul world or quantum realm, where they live without strife all around so Cap no longer has a reason to fight. He’s alive to have QR babies that become young Avengers, but Cap can never return to our reality because his sacrifice was giving up earth.

I think Bucky and Cap will end up going for the soul stone. Bucky will have to kill Cap to get it and he will become the new Captain America. Hulk is a skrull. Stark travels to the future to get weapons to defeat Thanos and at the end of the movie Stark becomes Kang, ending Iron Man's contract and setting the stage for the next Avengers

Nope in AoU Natasha tells Bruce that she had a dream she was an Avenger and not just an assassin. She goes on to say she'll run off with him, he protests that they won't have a future because he physically can't have kids ,and she reveals that she was sterilized, that that is one less thing to worry about, and makes everything easier, even killing ,so having kids isn't an issue and asks "do you still think you are the only monster on the team?" Nat is trying to make up for the red in her ledger, and really does see herself as a monster. Bruce on the other hand becomes a monster, but is defined by the conflict involved in controlling that side of himself, he doesn't see himself as the monster.

The thing that bugs me is that this doesn't really fit with the themes of Infinity War. Obviously, IW is about sacrifice - specifically not making sacrifices - but that has nothing to do with Cap. Quill didn't sacrifice Gemora, and it cost them a Stone. The Witch didn't sacrifice Vision, and it cost them a Stone. Strange didn't sacrifice Stark, and it cost them (half of) everything. Not once is it ever implied that Cap's sacrifice would mean anything to the Endgame.

Just to think of it..Thanos was killing off half of the populations with Gamora for decades, so when he snapped and killed half of the universe he halved some of the creatures twice...which would lead to extinction, so even that is messed up with his plan. I'm not sore if any Asgardian is alive at this point either as their ship got destroyed by Thanos in the beginning..
