Jake, as always, great review. I 'encouraged' your purchase and review, so I am glad you feel I did not overhype the product. You echoed my impressions, so I will not digress through repetition. Thank you for taking the time to invest and review the Flex Control 4 for the masses. Nike stock should shoot up tomorrow 🤣

@@thatfitfriend Jake, one question for you. . . forgive me if my recollection is wrong, I believe you said you are going to dip your toes into the Hyrox space? If so, what shoe will you be wearing during your race? Will it be the Flex Control 4?

@@avera9636 I was going to do Vegas on Feb 1st, buttttt I'm an idiot and forgot my buddy's wedding is that weekend, too, so now I'm selling my tickets. I was going to use the F-Fly, though.

@@thatfitfriend Thank you . . . there will be more hyrox events. When you do participate, please do a 'documentary' to share with us. Do you participate in the CF Open? If so, and speaking of content, hope you also document your Open workouts . . . of course, we will all be paying special attention to which shoes you wear depending on the test 🤣

I remember this review being requested in the comments. Happy to hear they were a pleasant surprise. Might have to give these a try. Just got the Nike Air Zoom TR1's and I'm enjoying those right now.

Great review. I long for the days of the Nike Repper DSX. Was a great, simple, do-everything shoe.

Hi Jake, with all the recent/ current hypo about Hyrox, would you be able to do a review of the best shoes for the race and how utilize shoes for training? (E.g train in what you compete in, or use different shoes for training). This would be super helpful. I attended a Hyrox in Anaheim this past weekend and saw ppl using Nike Metcon Free that fell apart during the sled push - must not be subscribed to your channel obviously they would have known better). I find your reviews incredible useful and credible. Thanks

Hey! I've been wanting to get into HYROX-focused shoes/content more and was supposed to run a race on Feb 1st, but realized I double booked that weekend and already have a wedding to attend. Will be an early 2025 goal to work through. Danggggg, poor blokes. Def should have subbed. Thank you for rocking with me! How did you do at Anaheim?

Sounds like great general trainers for the value. They are on sale at Nike's website. Will you be reviewing the Adidas Rapidmove ADV 2 and UA Dynamic 2?

Good cheap pick up! Rapidmove 2, yes, Dynamic 2 potentially! They're on my radar. I just did the Intelliknit Dynamic, so I'm not rushing to the 2.

I bought this shoe mostly for plyometric work and footwork drills with lots of lateral movement. The shoe is light, nimble, and is well built especially for the price. However, for some reason, it fits too tight for my normal men's size 9.5US, and I don't even have wide feet. All my Nike's shoes are a size 9.5, I even have a 9, but for some reason this shoe was just too narrow at the toe box, especially with my big toe digging in and feeling cramped. I resorted to removing the insole, which provided more room, albeit less comfort, but even still it felt a bit too cramped. I'm suspecting it's because of the upper which somewhat feels too snug as you can see it tapers quite low. Aside from the sizing, it's a good shoe for the price, but you might want to consider getting half a size up. In comparison I bought the Reebok Nanoflex 2 as per Jake's recommendation and it fit pretty well at my normal 9.5US. Feels different from the flex control, a much more stable and rigid feel as opposed to the agile and spry nature of the Flex Control 4, but is still lightweight and great for plyometrics and footwork, and is better suited for lifting. Nevertheless both shoes are good for crosstraining but I think the Nanoflex 2 is more comfortable with a slightly better build.
@thatfitfriend8 күн бұрын
Yeah, you're on the money with the upper likely being the culprit for the snugger fit, imo! Glad both shoes have been serving you well. Def different feels with both and what you get. Two of the stronger shoes for the price points, too!

hey there brother, i'm looking for the perfect budget training shoe and i'm currently looking at the Nike MC Trainer 3, Legend Essential 3 and Flex Control 4, i mostly do a PPL split for my workouts and kettlebell workouts for conditioning, i have a proper running shoe for my weekly runs so i have no problems with that, for reference, i have EU size 44 flat feet but i don't think that they're too wide. i'd like to know which one's better in your opinion for my certain use case, cheers!

Do you think their construction is better than the Nike MC Trainer 3?
@Elazarko8 күн бұрын
And there's also the Nike Legend Essential 2 that seems very comparable.
@thatfitfriend8 күн бұрын
I do - if you have an athletic bias. MC feels a little more stable for lifting due to its heel construction! Legend Essential is the least strong of these three.
