Why does Peter Pan fly? If someone hit you in the peter with a pan you'd fly too. 😅 Classic.

I still listen to these classic “power records” stories every now and then. Especially if I’m having trouble sleeping..Loved these to death as a kid!

Still the Batman album and the singles of the Fantastic Four, Wolfman, Dracula and Frankenstein! These were great! One Halloween there wasn't much on tv. So I turned the lights down and played all 3 that night. Great being a kid in the 70's!

These were awesome junkman. I didn't realize there were 2 different companies. I had at least half of these, including the he-man record. I got them all at the thrift store as a kid. They were a lot of fun. I always liked the dramatic telling of the stories. 😁

That sounds good, a He-Man record. :) That would be cool to have the He-Man intro to start the record with. 🎵He-Man!🎵

Before Blue ray, DVD, Laser Dick, and VHS there was a Star Wars record. Listened to that well over 1,000 times.

I also remember that cereal companies would occasionally package records with their products. They even had them specially printed on the back of the box- where you had to cut them out of the cardboard. Those were really flimsy and didn't hold up to a lot of wear. Edit: The specific records I remember were called Spooky Stories- and they were packaged on the back of Honeycomb, Alpha Bits and Monster Cereals in the late 70s.

My older brother and I had a bunch of the Peter Pan Book & Records growing up. Mostly Disney ones- but we had a collection of the Original G.I. Joe ones from the 70s. Unfortunately, my Mother (in her infinite wisdom) packed up all our "children's" books, records and our encyclopedia set (ever heard of Childcraft by World Book?) and sent them to my oldest cousin who's wife was pregnant. Lots of collectible Value went with those... The only one I have left is actually a Book and Cassette from 1982 of _Star Trek Ii: The Wrath Of Kahn_

I used to listen to those records all the time! They were a ton of fun and you could learn to read better by going along with them. The Masters of the Universe Power of Point Dread one was awesome! It came with the playset and it was actually kind of funny. Trap Jaw and Tri Klops really come across as complete morons in it! I mean, Skeletor was always screaming at them on the cartoon, but they really are bumbling fools in this story! Almost makes you feel sorry for poor Skeletor! There were some other REALLY cheap Masters of the Universe book and record sets, but they came along at the VERY end of the line and were just cheap black and white books with minimal story. Probably worth something today, though. You know how that crap nobody bought back in the day ends up being the most expensive items.

These would be awesome to have. I absolutely LOVE the hiss, pop, and crackle of a record. It's like the record is alive. It's magical. This is totally different, but you mentioned radio plays, Billy Dee Williams was the only cast member that did all the Star Wars radio plays, even the one for Dark Empire. Thanks for the video

I remember these, but don't remember any kids having them. They seem like they'd be ok. And that guy trying to sound like Shatner is terrible. Spidey's boss was J Jonas Jameson.

You're right about the Shatner imitator. To be fair, there weren't a lot of good Shatner imitators in the '70s.

I had a few of these. The Incredible Hulk At Bay! The villain was Abomination. I had Planet of the Apes and Escape From the Planet of the Apes. And I had Captain America. I listened to them all the time and, yes, they helped me with my reading. Fast forward and I'm a book lover to this day. I can still hear some of the dialog in my head as it played on the records. I eventually found the original issues of The Hulk and Captain America. So much fun.

The Rockomic The Amazing Spider-Man is a record I played over and over as a child. I can still picture the Buddah spinning round and round on the label. It was a rock opera and it cemented my lifelong obsession with Spider-Man.

Hey there Junkman, interesting video! I have a lot of those you showed...Star Trek 6 or more of those, a few Marvel and D.C. The Conan LP I got after I found the 45 of a Conan story & Comic in a Kay-Bee Store in the mid 80s. The same Story is 1 of those on the LP. I think I got all those for the prices they had printed on them of $1.49 or something like that. One of these days I'll do a vid on them, when I find them that is. Take care! 😀🖖

No. I didn't listen to any of these. But I do have a few which makes me wonder just how many of these are there? And the actors forget who the hero even is in one!... Yeah, Spiderman was called Superman in one of these... can you believe that? I think someone would be getting sued now of days if it happened today.
