I own one of these and I’m 6’5” tall and the air cleaner elbow gets in the way of my shine a good bit.

@@thatoneguymoto Anytime 🤓 And I have been thinking about putting a low profile air cleaner on it. But I can also live with the heavy breather hitting my shin, so time will tell. The heavy breather air cleaning will also make it a bit tougher to run highway pegs also, because it pushes your leg out some when you extend out for highway pegs.

The Street Glide is my favorite and at his 5'6'' height that would be a better model. The screen you can reach and see better. You can see over the top and to the ground better.

Is this bike with the 117 and Power Cam, not Torque Cam, OK for around town? Laidlaw in his review says ''If you are just tolling around town and not getting on the open highway and does high RPM and high speed stuff, then maybe the ST isn't for you. The power comes on rather gradually its a little bit mushy, especially in the lower RPM range because the cam favors high end horse power.'' But Harley in a Power Cam description states '' The additional power starts to build @ 3000 RPM and continues to build by up to 24% at redline. Riding the bike aggressively will require downshifting to lower gears to keep the engine operating in the higher RPM range. • Ideal for riders looking for excitement and are willing to ride in the upper RPM range • Produces greater acceleration in the mid and upper RPM range''. What is your opinion on the 117 with stock cam and is it around town friendly?

I think it's a matter of preference. For me, I'd say riding a big bike like this around town on short trips on in traffic, stoplight to stoplight is not going to be ideal. This bike wants to be on the highway, and be opened up on longer trips. But to each their own. If you can only afford one bike and want something you can take on longer trips, comfortably, then give it a go and see what you think. If the dealer lets you, spend some time in slow speed maneuvering to get an idea of how cumbersome it's going to be.

I was wondering when you were stopped from time to time, how was the heat and did you feel alot of heat off the exhaust where the Cat would be when your foot was on the ground?

I didn't notice any heat when stopped, but we did hit mostly green lights. I've ridden three different RG models and don't remember it being an issue. ✌🏽

Is the ST model talller than the roadglise special? Higher seat?

The seat height on the Special is 26.1 in and the ST is 26.7 in (both laden).

A bit. But, as a rider who can't stand any buffeting at all, it was tolerable. Definitely better than the Street Glide.

IMO, every H-D model is overpriced. 😆
