It's not the number of gears, it's the ratio of the gears. You can make a bike with 10 years that winds out before a bike with five depending on the ratio and spacing of the gears. What you want to look at is the ratio of the final gear, not the number of gears.

The classic look is definitely preserved in the 24 models, but I dig the look of the new 101.

The 5th gear on the 60 and the 6th gear on the Scout are the same final gear ratio. The normal Scout has the same gear ratio in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd and 6th gear as the 60. The 5th gear on the normal Scout is an in between gear ration of the 60's 4th and 5th gear.

So Is the squealing/whining coming from the engine normal? I just bought one and it drives me kinda nuts lol. Especially since idk if something’s wrong or if that’s just how to engine sounds

I did not hear a whining or squealing from the engine. Maybe check with the dealer to see if there's an issue?

At 1:09 you can hear what sounds like a whine when accelerating. I think it’s just the sound of the engine but I’m going in for an oil change next week and they’re gonna look at it then

Folks have no clue. Trask intake, freedom 2 into 1 and a Lloyd's tune and my 2021 scout bobber 60... Yes, the 60 cubic inch one does 60 mph in first gear and about 80 mph in 2nd. Its nutz.

It's all about the $$$. If there's no demand, they'll stop doing it. I don't necessarily like the look either, but after riding with them, it's pretty comfortable. As long as they don't go more than chest high.
