My only coping mechanism was to take a step back from football, following the games via radio or box scores while out doing things with the family rather than carving out specific time to sit and watch. @@unfixedarm5244 you might not want to hear it, or even appreciate it since I'm a chiefs fan, but I remember my team in the 90s, and how good the defense was. How much money was used to maintain it for as long as they did. They even spent money on the offensive line and it was pretty good as well. But from an occasional good season from a running back, the offense could not perform beyond the running game at all. Yeah they won a bunch of games, but overall they failed when the games mattered. They should have spent more on offense like wide receiver and tight ends and just a little less on defense, and they should have been drafting QBs until they found one instead of taking 49er cast offs. Broncos were never just a QB away from a superbowl run. They haven't been for more than a few seasons now. The Wilson trade is looking really bad, and will set them back for a few more seasons until they can start a full rebuild. You would think that would make me happy, and to be honest it kinda does in a way. But for the most part I want the AFC west to be competitive with each other, and the rivalry to have meaning. I miss that kind of football.

Nah, not really. Only 4 QB's/5 teams have won a superbowl since the Broncos last won a championship. Gotta take the lows with the highs, and almost every team has some lows within 5 or so years of a championship. Saints, Packers, Colts, Ravens, Giants and those are just the winners of those super bowls. The Steelers had a couple 8-8 years 2 years after their super bowl. Just the nature of the beast, and the Broncos FO has been more incompetent than many who came off a superbowl win. BUT most teams fanbases would gladly swap with Denver for the last 8-10 years.

The Broncos will probably have the longest playoff drought of any team after this year. They look more and more like a dysfunctional organization with every passing week. They also have by far the most cap space next year. Right now they're #2 behind the Texans. I say they trade out for a haul and get front seven players and lineman with their draft capital and or cap space. You can try to defend him, but we all know he is what he is, so f’k the Texans & the Browns AND DeSean Watson! We have scored 20 or more points 4 times, 20 points in tying the Texans, 20 in a lucky win vs the chiefs, 34 vs the jags (who shut us out a few weeks before), and 25 against the a horrible raiders team. Like the broncos we have good weapons on offense, but our new veteran quarterback isn't living up to the hype and our O-line is horrible.

As a Chiefs fan, seeing the Broncos implode this season, after desperately trying to buy their way to relevance, has been heart warming. This Broncos team reminds me of the 2007-2009 Chiefs teams that went 10-38 over that three year stretch. The major difference between them is the Chiefs weren’t shackled to a $250m boat anchor at QB. Real pickle over there in Denver. 😅
