I dated this girl for a while one. I was one step away from worshipping her. I'm not that talkative of a person though, and I'm awkward with expressing feelings because I always had to hide them. That was probably what ruined it. My friend, on the other hand, was smart, nice, and not QUIET OR AWKWARD. He was also my closest friend, and he was actually helping me get over my anxiety and insecurities and self-doubts. That made it sting all the more when she left me for him. I just needed some time, you should just need some time too. Play on brother, please don't lose me in the comments

ThatViolaKid I just went through the same thing 2 weeks ago and its painful. It really hurts when the other person doesnt see the same way we see them. I'm still trying to recover by making myself busy with more practices and self-heals. This Vlog is so real and relatable. Thank you for sharing and be open about your emotions. I could be a selfish and terrible person when i say this, but I'm actually feeling a little bit better knowing that there are other people having to deal with these kinds of stuff. I guess it is painfully right to say Happiness takes works!

Hey man, I'm so sorry this happened to you. I'm a musician too and I think that when your whole career is based on bringing the depths of your feelings to the outside this kind of stuff hits you in the gut in a special way. I've been rejected more times than I care to think about, so I have an idea what you're going through and it sucks. I know hearing this sort of thing doesn't really help while it's happening, but here it is: now that I'm happily married I'm glad things didn't work out with the other girls I've dated. Hold on because it gets better, whatever direction you decide to take your romantic life in. Let this experience make you a more beautiful person and a more beautiful artist. Good luck

I am so moved by your realness in this video. Life can be hard. We are human. We feel. It doesn't always go our way. It is so incredibly refreshing to see someone in your position be brave enough and real enough to admit that your struggling right now. It makes me like you even more. I'm so sorry for what you're going through. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to just turn ourselves off until it passes? But we can't and we gotta go through it. But take comfort in knowing that it will pass. People move in and out of our lives. Sometimes people stay too long and sometimes they leave before we want them to. So I think what you did in telling us your heart story was not only helpful to you but helpful to us because we all hurt and we all play. You are completely right: what doesnt kill you makes you stronger. And even though that does sound kinda stupid, it's no further from the truth than the fact that you will overcome the pain you're going through right now. And once you've done that, you will feel that strength and you will be a whole new person. All it takes is time. And you can take as much time as you want. Just keep reminding yourself: life is great, I'm a freakin badass and I've got people who are here for me. Wish you all the best! 🙆

Hey Drew! I feel you on this 100%. I met this guy that I really, really liked last year. I told him that I liked him this year and he told me he just wanted to be friends. I felt like we were going somewhere, so when he told me that, it came completely out of the blue and I was so shocked and sad. It's been more than half a year since that, and it's been 4 months since I told him we can't be friends for the time being 'cause it was too dang painful for me to have him as a friend. The pain has gotten a lot better. But the idea that I honestly thought it was going somewhere and it didn't, was truly quite earth-shattering. Like you said though, everything happens for a reason, and after I got rejected by this guy, I ended up finding this orchestra ensemble in Tokyo to play with, and making friends with this girl who's a really good violinist and now I have a group of people I can play with in Japan- when I didn't even have that back in the States. It sometimes still hurts to think that I was so convinced that the friendship with this guy was going nowhere, and it didn't, but really, had it not been for that incident, I wouldn't be where I am now- which is practicing the viola more- being surrounded by more like-minded people, and studying more Japanese than in the past 3 years I've been here in Japan. I just wanted to share my story, just in case it'll in anyway help you deal with your pain, even if it's just a little bit. You are an awesome, truly inspiring and amazing indiviual, and a super duper awesome viola player. Thanks so much for keeping it real, and I will keep you in my prayers as always. Do you have any recommendation for a shoulder rest that's comfortable, long-lasting, and can actually stay on the viola :P I've been looking at Kun brand but some of them don't have the best reviews for viola.

I have a quick question so I have had my eye on julliard for 10 years now I have been dancing for 8yr on and off and I'm a violinist for about three years now I love both and want to make a living out of both of them is there any way I could take both divisions in the same 4 years if I get accepted their or will I have to take one first then the other and I know I have to audition for both so would they allow me to and could I get my master degrees in dance and music in the same two years and if you don't know I understand cuz it's a lot to ask I love your videos and I hope u continue them but could you plz find out for me 💜💜
