And if I need to stop drinking. I drink sometimes with friends. But the friends I have now don’t know I smoke. I know I have an issue and really want to stop. But I just don’t want to stop drinking too. But if you did I’ll cut it out to if it mean a better life

So I fell down the rabbit hole again of smoking weed and I have found my own personal conclusion. Weed makes you feel so relaxed you lose your since of urgency in life. You get comfortable with being average if you abuse it daily. Energy levels deplete which is why it was hard for me to find motivation to do anything in my everyday life to the fullest potential, because I was comfortable with being average. It makes me go on KZbin and look for that outside motivation which is only temporary. You hear the speeches to get amped up to do something, only to spark a joint and say I’ll get to it tomorrow instead. Life is about pushing yourself to do the things you don’t feel like doing. Which is hard to do in the meditation state that it leaves you in. I’ve already began to start a business, get a website setup, and my brand in progress in the last 90 days. More than I’ve accomplished in the last 2 years smoking. More energy than ever that I feel like just running down the street for no reason. Now I can channel that energy back into My everyday life and accelerate to my goals quicker than ever. I notice smoking too much also gave me a short attention span. I’m giving it up this time for sure. Got no more time to fuck around.

100% u feel so positive and confident over controlling the addiction, that you tell yourself a story on now i am in control, and then the cycle repeats, there is no strategy to slowly progressively quit or do it once in a while, when u addicted you fall short, and it has you in hand. Accept and assume and do it or not, relapse or not, accept and try again, over and over until succedd into a good relationshio with your addiction or go Cold Turkey.

Omg the first thing you said!!! About your words having value again🥺 I was so depressed for so long & smoked weed & drank alcohol all day everyday. When I went on social media, it all felt dull. Even when I saw people becoming successful & moving forward with their lives it just annoyed me & it didn’t motivate me at all. Whenever I thought about doing better, I didn’t feel any urge. Of course I was unhappy with my situation but I let the negative thoughts take over. When I stopped smoking & drinking It’s like the world became colorful again. I felt purpose in my dreams & goals. It MATTERED & I felt WHY it mattered. It’s crazy how much drugs dull out your brain.

Had my first j with a friend when I was 14, didn't touch it again until I was 16 and since then I've practically been an everyday smoker. I'm 22 now and looking at the path my life was headed the lacklustre effort I'd put into my life thus far was really demotivating, I couldn't commit to anything, not school/work/relationships, sometimes I would just spend days sitting in my room doing nothing but binging Netflix and youtube and smoking bong after bong. A few weeks ago I realised how bad my mental health had become, I am majorly depressed, so I decided that was it. I didn't want to escape my reality anymore, I have started supplementing lionsmane mushroom concentrate in order to see if there are any improvements I have gone cold turkey for about 2 weeks now and I can honestly say that just the fact that I haven't had a smoke for this long has shown great improvements in my drive, my mood (some days are tough still, I obviously still get the craving every other day but my future is worth more than the escapism of weed, I'm finally pursuing my dreams rather than just saying I will with no follow through). It's extra hard because my gf still smokes but if I can keep going even with the temptation being right there I know I can achieve anything I set my mind too, and I haven't felt that way since I was a little kid. Good luck to all who have decided to take the plunge and start their journey to recovering from their addiction, I'm sending all the support and positive vibes your way.

That grace period of not taking THC lasted almost two years and then in a single moment of weakness I got back on, ended up staying on it for about 2-3 months, then quit again for about 2 and a half months. You can do this! One thing that helped me with my recent relapse was that I became grateful for the relapse because the relapse made it apparent that I don’t have control when I’m on weed. I viewed the relapse as an event to strengthen my conviction that I am getting sober. Without the relapse and slipping back into stoner state, the addict voice will likely reach you again. That voice that says, “hey, you’re good now, you can smoke a little weed here and there. I’ve got a handle on it this time.” But the relapse needs to happen sometimes to cement into our brains that we need to just stay away from it completely.

Main reason I’d need to quit is because all good jobs that could pay for such a thing like rehab, discriminates against cannabis users which is wrong but I wouldn’t be mad if I wasn’t a user. But also it seems to make me tired and unproductive, harder for me to socialize, think clearly and quickly, list goes on.

It’s not fair to box everyone in the same category. However, majority of the time a lot of girls who smoke weed are one type of person. There are committed functional weed smokers out there. As long as it doesn’t get in the way of your relationships, affect your career or personal goals ect then it shouldn’t be an issue.

A word of advice. You didn't come into this world stoned. You came in as a free human being. I'm currently thinking about quitting cigarettes and have been for a few months now, which is a million times harder for me than weed ever was to quit. At this point, I no longer want to be a slave to any of it. And that's exactly what we make ourselves when we let these things become us. There is no doubt in my mind that any and all of the people in these comments can quit. Including myself with cigarettes. I've about fucking had it and am so fed up with what comes along with it. I will pray for all of us. Have a good journey, friend.

you have to find other ways to gain pleasure that are positive, meditation helps so much with achieving that clear mind when trying to quit, also, what you watch and listen to has a huge impact on your brain, instead of listening and watching bullshi or stuff for pleasure, start listening and watching postive things that will benefit u, for example if u are trying to quit weed, and your ig feed is filled with ppl smoking weed u have to change it or it will be torture everytime u open ur feed, all we are is a sum of our habits and thoughts, but we can control both of these, take power over yourself and your life, much love and good luck

Reading the comments and seeing how long other people have been smoking weed made me stop and consider for the first time how long I have really been smoking. At first I thought maybe it’s been five years, and then I realized that wasn’t even close, it must be closer to eight. Then I thought about how at 26 years old, eight years ago I was eighteen so it must be more like ten! Scary to think it’s in the double digits, but then I remembered the first time I smoked weed I was a freshmen in high school and have been pretty much a daily smoker since then. That means it’s been 12 fucking years! my entire adult life I’ve been a stoner. I will quit! I will not let weed control my life anymore! I want to do better for myself!

weed and coffee, just do it once and awhile, maybe once a month. Being addicted to something is terrible. I get a short of black coffee from starbucks every once and awhile and its like im on speed, im shaking and its like too much really but when i drank coffee everyday id get a large and it was nothing just a normal day, that made me realize how extreme caffiene is. Weed is that exact same. don't get addicted and you'll actually feel better the next morning when it wears off. That little short of black coffee and im up half the night and thats having in the morning which is insane to me, i uded to drink multiple cups of that like it was nothing.

Smoking weed is great for people dealing with isolation and loneliness. Quitting will not magically make people like you especially if you're dealing with facial disfigurement or other issues that the typical person doesn't deal with. I think this advice is good for average people with no physical issues that make it harder to exist in society.

I believe in “everything in moderation”. Unfortunately I realise some are not capable of that, so it’s easier said than done. I’ve been smoking weed on and off since I was 12/13, I am now 20. I smoked bongs every single day since the start of the pandemic and before that it was most days. I am day 4 without smoking, and before starting this detox I would only smoke after work in the evenings so I’ve already been able to control when I smoke beforehand anyway. I am currently on holiday in the Canaries, and when I get home in 4 days time, I won’t be picking the bong straight back up. I will be going to work Friday morning and going to sleep Friday night without smoking, and then Saturday is when I plan to (if appropriate) smoke some more. It will then only be weekend use and if I fail at that then I what I say is a load of rubbish ultimately. I understand it’s different for everyone too, I want to emphasise I have always had a really weird paranoid irrational anxiety since I was a child far before the first time I smoked (which I only did because it was inflicted upon me by olders at the skateparks I’d go to every day). I’d cry myself to sleep about potential things happening to my younger brothers that were far fetched and unlikely. I also lost my best friend Jack to suicide back in March, he jumped off a bridge and drowned himself with bricks in his rucksack, and I struggled a lot with that for a while to the point of having to be signed off work because my existing depression had multiplied. What I’m trying to get at is I don’t have it all easy, and I think some might assume from my lack of difficulty giving things up that maybe I do. But I really think people should approach things completely openly and without preconceived ideas of how it will be. Who knows, you might be like me and not really struggle at all with giving things up. Nicotine has never been an issue for me to quit either, maybe because I psychologically depended on cannabis more and only cared whether I had that really despite vaping 20mg nicotine juice consistently for months and having smoked cigarettes at around the same age of starting weed (13-15 ish). Just give it your best shot and my best advice is STAY BUSY. Weed is a bored man’s worst nightmare because it lures you into a false sense of satisfaction with being idle, and you subconsciously hate yourself for it whilst on the surface being totally okay with it. God bless anyone who is in the same boat with their habits I hope you all reach the place you want to be one day, and soon.

I can't get addicted to nicotine, it's basically impossible at this point. I used weed to eliminate my nic addiction but as a result it made me grip even harder onto weed but now that weed is out I'm completely free of all drugs so lessssss gooooo

About a month ago I said you know what I’m tired of needing weed I’m gonna quit but I just couldn’t do it I smoked resin and reclaim for a few days then I was like alright I’m out now I have to stop. Nope lasted hours before I was getting weed now here I am today all the reclaim and resin smoked not gonna get a bag. I leave town for work tomorrow I have a good feeling I can do it this time need tips on how to keep from giving in.

The #1 problem with quitting smoking weed is the endless boredom. I've tried to quit almost a dozen times but the agonizing boredom breaks me every time.

Weed doesn't cure boredom, it only makes you content with that boredom.

Nah y'all just don't know how to smoke and function in day to day life. Take responsibility for your own actions, don't blame the weed for your own laziness.

Ridiculous take. I'm a very successful high functioning stoner for 15 years. It doesn't mean it doesn't eat away at you in other ways. It's what I COULD have done. Way more experiences. Way more money. Way less dependent on chasing a plant. You're a terrible person btw. You want to justify your own choices by putting down others and claiming you're superior to them. Weed has already corrupted you and you can't see it. You are essentially saying people with addiction are lazy. A very dumb take. You have no empathy or attempt to try to relate. Guess what I've never had alcohol be a problem but I fully understand its a problem for others and wish them the best in their journey. You can't even do that. The weed has got such a strong grip on you that you'd rather assume you're the only strong person instead of seeing yourself as lucky that it's not a problem for whatever reason. Also why do you want to smoke everyday and function? Why can life not satisfy you normally?

Dr.Frank, with your helpful video's "that always seemed to be talking directly to my particular situations" I quit smoking weed back on 07/27/2022. I want to share two parts of my life that sobriety has helped me get back. First, I regained a meaningful relationship with my wife and immediate family members "kids". They didn't appreciate their dad being stoned all the time, nor the stench of skunkyness around the house - go figure - Talk about an accomplishment that gives me strength to continue being sober. Secondly "my health" - I now walk after dinner as opposed to smoking a joint and the felt benefits of health are another personal best. Again, thank you Dr. Frank .

I wasn’t as much of a heavy user in comparison to others, and it took me at least 3 weeks before feeling normal. I started feeling better around week 2. Time will pass regardless and things get better. It’s not easy. Stay strong.

Wow! Really powerful message! Recently went through 62 days sober from weed, that’s 38 days more than I’ve ever done in my whole life! (37M) (And over 100 days sober from alcohol still). Had a planned relapse which turned into a 12 day relapse and now it’s confirmed that moderation is not in the cards for me and life is just better being off weed. Only on day 5 now again but coming off the recent 62 days, and feeling and knowing how much more I can be and also going through the recent relapse and feeling and knowing how much less I am on weed, I know that I’m getting sober for the long haul again. Thank you for this video! Great content here!
