My father is Pakistani and he's a driver in Kuwait. He works there with fellow indians. My father was a smoker and it ruined his lungs. He had alot of phlegm and always coughed. One day one of his Indian friend told him you should chew on cloves like I do. And it has amazing results.just try. My father started taking cloves regularly. And his phlegm was gone. It took time but it cleared the issues as his teeth were also so bad. Now he doesn't have any pain in his teeth. And I was surprised that he no longer coughs. Back in the early 90s, I had a tooth pulled, and developed a painful condition of what’s called “dry socket”. Don’t know if this is allowed but I’ll tell my story. I have dental implants for more than 22 years. A change in my health has me on a powerful biologic injections and one of the side effects I was told could be infections in my mouth. I did get an infection. It cost me $20,000 for these implants, to take them out I’m sure will cost a lot besides once the implants are out my jaw will collapse, I was a wreck! My daughter told me about an Indian that told her that he chews cloves to keep his mouth clean from infection. I ordered clove bud oil and applied it full strength on my infected implants. It burned like the devil the first couple of times. The infection is gone! It no longer burns and I apply it for maintenance. I’m in awe of this natural product. In India, when babies are teething, we rub clove oil on sore gums. Helps numb pain with no toxic effects. It is interesting that one reader from Ethiopia commented about its use in tea. Indians have the same thing. Indians after all, originated from South Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea and brought their food habits with them. Masala Chai in India, is a fortified rich thick brew for winter days, with black tea, sugar, milk, and a variety of spices such as garam masala (heat producing spices) or cardamom/ clove/ cinnamon/ ginger in the tea. These spices warm you up and have medically protective benefits.

He no longer takes any diabetes pills or has cholesterol issues. He drinks this water with ginger powder daily. For me I started drinking this late after I had recurring tonsilitis & hormonal imbalance. They really work! I wish I started gargling with them before I removed a side tooth that I was pushed by a dentist in turkey into removing! It was unnecessy and I have no plans of doing another invasive procedure for cosmetic reasons/to fill it! I'd urge everyone to consider these natural traditional remedies before take drastic action

As a fellow health KZbinr, I just wanted to say how much I appreciate your insights on the benefits of drinking clove water at night! It's fascinating to learn about the historical significance of cloves and their medicinal properties. In addition to the benefits you mentioned, I’d like to highlight that cloves are also rich in antioxidants, which can help combat oxidative stress in the body. This is particularly important for overall health and longevity. Moreover, the eugenol in cloves not only aids in oral health but also has anti-inflammatory properties that can support heart health by improving circulation and reducing blood pressure. For those looking to incorporate clove water into their routine, I recommend steeping a few whole cloves in hot water for about 10-15 minutes to extract the beneficial compounds effectively. This can be a soothing bedtime ritual that promotes relaxation and better sleep. Thanks for sharing such valuable information, Dr. Berg!
