From teleporters to time machine, boom tubes to dimensional rifts opener, AI's to reality manipulatiors, batman invented everything. Batman could even build dr manhattan machine (technically he was from other universe but our bruce wayne is smarter than that version so it actually counts.)

And as far as Batman goes, I also feel like he has that same kind of comic book presence/symbolism that Superman has. DCeased is a non canon story. Lex was always known in the main DC continuity to be the smartest man. And he is. Doomsday Clock literally name drops him as the smartest man in DC. You can even argue Mr. Terrific and a few more to be smarter than OP Batman. But they aren't as popular.

It’s not that joker is smart, it’s just that he is unpredictable. That makes him op, especially against batman. And he keeps so many backups BECAUSE he is going against batman. One must know, MOST villains do that, having multiple back ups. It’s just that the pattern or the way joker works is foreign all the time that batman cannot predict it. That’s why joker is an anomaly.

@Michael Terrell II First of all, Joker didn't exactly outsmart Lex Luthor and the Legion of Doom. I presume you are referring to Scott Snyder and James Tynion IV's Justice League issue #13? In that issue, Joker catches Luthor and the rest of the Legion off guard with his unpredictability. Luthor had a contingency storehouse in place, but he didn't realize Joker had discovered it ahead of time and took it off the board. It was unpredictability in this instance more than pure smarts. Also, please cite me an issue/storyline in which Joker outsmarts the entire JLA. To my knowledge, this has never happened either. As usually is the case with Joker, he makes plans ahead of time which he then unleashes upon Batman (and other heroes) when they least expect it, thus giving him a leg up and allowing him to keep the heroes guessing. I'm not saying Joker isn't smart. He is a genius in his own right. But, no, he is not smarter than Riddler. Even Joker himself has told Riddler that he is the one villain who challenges Batman's intellect and keeps his mind sharp (see Batman: Death of the Family). Also, saying Riddler cannot outsmart Batman isn't much of an argument. If Batman is truly the overall smartest human in DC, then logically any character will have an extremely difficult time outsmarting him.

Outsmarting several core members of the League and the Teen Titans does not automatically make him smarter than Riddler. That'd be like me saying I outsmarted a group of random people that Professor Steven Hawking never interacted with before, therefore I must be smarter than Steven Hawking. Also, most JLA members don't have half the intelligence as Batman (or Riddler for that matter), so it's a weak argument on its face. Again, saying Joker outsmarted the league in Endgame is disingenuous. He infected some of the leaguers with the Joker toxin, but we are never shown exactly how or when he does it. He infected them with poison, most likely when they didn't realize it, and It happens off panel with no explanation.

@Michael Terrell II The claim that Riddler is not able to outsmart Batman is false. He has outsmarted the Dark Knight on multiple occasions, including during the Batman: Hush, Batman: Zero Year, and Tom King's Batman: War of Jokes and Riddles story arcs, and in that latter story he even outplayed *Joker* by getting him to laugh again, which is what Riddler wanted from the beginning. (Disclaimer: I actually strongly dislike Tom King's Batman run; overall I think King went way too far off the rails in trying to do something different with the character.) Furthermore, Riddler has legitimately deduced Batman's true identity (see Hush), which is something Joker has never done. Joker had to hitch a ride on the Batboat and sneak into the Batcave in order to learn Batman's identity (i.e. there was no deduction involved). And of course Batman ultimately prevails against Riddler - same as he does against Joker and every other villain - because he's Batman. Lastly, and for good measure, the Riddler has even outsmarted the Flash - the fastest thinking character in the DCU and overall one of the smartest humans in the DCU (see Flash vol.4 #50). Bottom line: Both Joker and Riddler are geniuses, but Riddler is the smarter of the two. Joker's biggest strength is that, because of his insanity, he is somehow able to be more unpredictable than anyone. That doesn't make him smarter, it simply makes him more unpredictable. Also, what about Dr. Will Magnus (creator of the Metal Men) and John Henry Irons, who aside from creating his own super armor, ALSO reverse-engineered Kryptonian tech for the Justice League? I truly disagree that Batman is thee smartest character in DC period. When Superman truly acknowledge that Mister Terrific outshines Batman in intelligence period. Mr Terrific (including Ozymandias, and Hiro Okamura) was a child prodigy known for his superb intelligence. He re-engineered the workings of Bohr, Feynman, Einstein, and Planck(at the age of 6). So how is Batman thee smartest character in DC? Only psychological trait that makes Batman different, is that he knows how too defeat his competition. No matter what, Batman has a plan too beat you. That what makes him stand out the most. But, than again, Mr Terrific can easily match Batman in those areas as well.
