Great run mate I find it impressive that you broke the 80mph barrier, but now it will become increasingly difficult to reach higher speed, if I may come with a few suggestions, 1. The body needs to be more aerodynamic, meaning no holes to let air flow through. 2. Wheel arches to prevent airpressure to build up under the body. 3 rear diffuser to help the car get sucked to the ground and prevent air pressure build up under the body. 4. Front splitter must be fixed and glued to the wheel arch, for keeping it stable.

Get a scrap of outdoor carpet to warm the tires up on. It'll warm them up faster with a lot less wear. If the surface is too rough like the road what your primarily doing is removing rubber. That's actually counterproductive because of the heat leaves with the rubber. Also for speed runs you really don't need to worry about preheating the tires very much if at all. Your main enemy on speed runs is going to be aerodynamic issues not tire grip.

Congratulations on making it to 80mph and welcome to the club. You and I have the same idea in mind except your goal is 100mph and mine was 80mph. You can get there with the motor and ESC, but some of the parts on your car are holding you back from hitting 80mph sooner than you really should have. Example is that I hit 80mph after four passes. Your truck has a few things I would change that's not helping you with your aerodynamics. The body you have should mirror what Traxxas did on their truck, so the air flow goes through the front and exits the rear. The battery trays should be removed, because the balance on your chassis is off. The tires your using will get you to 80mph, because I used the Dboots white letter version on my truck. Some say they can't get you to 100mph, but the Infraction, Felony and limitless have done 100+ passes with Dboot tires on them just fine. They could be argued if they're the best choice or not but that's in the eye of the beholder. That's another conversation entirely if we want to have it. In my opinion your aerodynamics and chassis balance is hindering you from hitting 80 sooner and will make it harder for you to hit 100mph moving forward. Look up my video I just posted and see how my truck looks. I put some data in there as to what I'm running and my concept behind the build. The video isn't the best, but I was focused more on hitting my goal rather than giving out data at the time like you have. Now I'm working on a second video to show my chassis and what I've done to hit the 80mph. If you would like to talk about this outside of here let me know in your response and we can go from there.
@RCKnockout3 жыл бұрын
Yeah actually I can’t really remove the battery trays…there’s no place to mount a battery otherwise…can’t fit one in the stock battery tray due to the center mounted motor…those are all great tips though! 😉👍
@justaguyrc63033 жыл бұрын
@@RCKnockout I see what your talking about your battery trays not being able to be removed due to the motor being in the way of the original battery location. Ok, weigh your battery and take that number and add that much tire weights to the other side battery tray to balance out the chassis. That will also help assist in keeping a lower center of gravity. Second is remove the front splitter, foam and duct tape. Get these parts to mirror the Traxxas truck and install them on the front. The front air dam will allow the airflow to go up and over the front of the truck and acting as a splitter and pushing the front end down. Any airflow that gets in the body should escape out the rear, because you removed the rear tail gate section of the body. That will help you with air flow and the air to escape from under the body and shouldn't create pressure to push the front end up. See parts list below. 7437 - Front Skid Plate traxxas.com/products/parts/7437 5411 - Revo Wing Mount traxxas.com/products/parts/5411 5446 - Revo Wing (x2) traxxas.com/products/parts/5446 Look up my video "Traxxas Slash road to 80mph part 2" that shows my chassis setup with my new body.

@@justaguyrc6303 I’m definitely gonna check it out…I don’t think I wanna risk taking that front splitter off though.
