I started to listen to the book and then wondered if I could save time with a summary, but I found the book more motivating and have more points than the summary. The summary still gives an idea so thank-you.

Thank you. It’s been a while since I have read the book and I was wondering if now was the time to revisit the principles and practice it. Your synopsis brought it all back. I am retired and was floundering. This structure is just what I need. Retirement, it turns out, is probably easier handled by project managers. Those of us that avoided that like the plague don’t have the skills. This system will help me stop scattering my focus.

Thanks for the summary! I might skip the book entirely or skim it. It seems to have a lot of assumptions about how a person is motivated based on their perception of the calendar, time, or year-but that doesn't like up with how I feel motivated. For example, I don't feel a sense of urgency or a rush to end the year a certain way because I know it's so arbitrary. Condensing that timeframe to something shorter could be helpful, since I already see it as arbitrary, or useless, since I don't feel motivated by the passing of time. This has been the best summary I've found so far to help me decide if I want to read the book

I was hoping that you'd tell me how to do it and not just try to sell me your book. I was looking for instructions on how to implement the process. This was very high-level steps like "Make time to regroup". Not really helpful on implementation. If you buy the book, I'm on chapter 20 and still haven't gotten past the sales pitch. I was hoping they'd do a better job on youtube.
@ReadAndGrow2 жыл бұрын
I am not sure what kind of instructions you are looking for. The main idea is to set your goals with a shorter time horizon - 3 months instead of a year and to focus on 1-2 goals at a time. The other part is to convince you it's worth the try
@nicolemurphy6822 жыл бұрын
@@ReadAndGrow I was looking for specifics. Not a sales pitch to buy the book. If "3 months instead of a year and to focus on 1-2 goals at a time." is all the instruction you get out of the book then I'd like my money back. This could've been a 30 second video and a 2 paragraph article. I don't want or need to be convinced to buy a thing I've already bought. the author is trying to draw it out so people don't feel cheated. But he is cheating people by making them read/listen to chapters of a sales pitch to buy a thing they've already bought and not getting to the "How do you do this". I don't care how someone's life was terrible before they used this system. That's fluff. Just get to the point. I'll feel happy with my purchase if I learn how to do it. I feel very upset that I've listened to 14 chapters of sales pitch and gotten more from the table of contents than i have from the book itself. That's why I came to KZbin, in hopes that someone would give information on how to use (implement) the system.I don't pay for streaming services if they still make you watch ads. Why would I buy a book that forces me to read/listen to 14+ chapters of ad? That seems pretty ridiculous right? I think I am going to try to get my money back for the book. It's not worth $5.
@ReadAndGrow2 жыл бұрын
Whatever floats your boat. Some people get inspired by reading stories of people who changed their life using the system. As to our part here - we are just summarising the book
