Hey Lauren, I just would like to wish you a happy birthday today & happy bonfire night later tonight. This was phenomenal, intel has changed the game for us all. Productivity is my main goal and now it is better than ever for most cases. Yes power may be an issue for some but systems require a lot of power as they achive great things anyway with the power Golden Cove really has amazing IPC gains, I still am in my sandy bridge Golden Cove is the sandy bridge of exactly a decade later. It will do great things as more optimizations for it happen on the Linux & Windows 11 side of things ironing out latency issues & DDR5 performance improvements from motherboard vendors. Glad you were given an early sample and share it.

Intel Increased IPC by 40% this year, 20% with Rocket Lake and another 20% with Alder Lake. Not even the jump from Sandy Bridge to Haswell or Skylake was that big.

At last! A creator who isn't running benches on Windows 10 when Windows 11 has specific support for the new Alder Lake architecture. Windows 11 is mature and stable enough now for all these "yeah but it's too new" reasons for not upgrading. I have been running Win 11 since public preview and have no stability or performance issues, although I did move the start menu to the left :). The Noctua cooler is nice - I am a big Noctua fan (fan hehe) but for i9 CPUs I would have thought the NH-D15 would have been a better match (I have 2x i9 9900kf machines with NH-D15 coolers). Just checked and Scan have despatched my i9 12900k for delivery tomorrow so I guess I better start looking around for some components! Thanks for the video and Happy Birthday for tomorrow!

Nice video but whay is a 12900K with Z690 MOBA compared to a R9 5900X with a B550 ? Where you training to stop the R9 to getting more power ? if yes what not put it on a A350 board ( or at this point what not disable cores) ? Nice to have competition in the marcate but not when it is misliding or hindering evolution ? We head 10 year or more of quad cores because of intel !! what is next ?

Just release AMD 5950X power limits and it remains lower in power usage and beats 12900K in workstation workloads. Amd just needs to release their cpu from tdp like intel and ryzen 6000 is really really fast.
@ledoynier3694
@ledoynier3694 2 жыл бұрын
@@Bot.number.69420 problem is, they are still way behind in cooling. Intel CPUs since the 10th gen can push out 300+ watts without throttling. Ryzen throttles way lower than that, that's why they have pretty much no overclocking headroom and are best left under PBO. It's something AMD (well, TSMC acually) will have to adress with future releases, just to get more space to increase pure performance at least for the flagship CPU

My Ryzen 5950X achieves stable 4,6GHz on all 32 cores at v1.250 and consuming 130W at 82°C. This config can reach 29000 point at Cinebench 23. The Intel CPU has better performance per core, yeah! But also is a chip released one year later and consumes twice as the Ryzen on with the half of P cores… Not sure where are we going with all this partial reviews. And btw no one mentions that we are comparing also DDR4 vs DDR5….
@TastyPC
@TastyPC 2 жыл бұрын
It's fair to compare intel's latest to AMD's latest, even if AMD's is a year old now. It's also entirely fair to compare with DDR4 vs DDR5 and literally every review mentions it.
@kopele578
@kopele578 2 жыл бұрын
Sure it's fair to compare. The message I'm receiving is that it's perfectly fine to get 5-10% performance boost at 40-50% power consumption. And the fact that CPU with P and E cores arch isn't efficient by any means at this point. Only time and real world usage will tell. The only true benefit I'm seeing here is the battle between Intel and AMD will force them to drop prices at least...

I can explain it to you. Look at the two following motherboards: A) ASUS ROG STRIX Z690-E GAMING WIFI B) ASUS ProArt Z690-CREATOR WIFI So board A is targeted at gamers (it’s in its name) and board B is targeted at creators (again it’s in its name). What gets more use out of high speed storage, gaming or creative applications? The answer is creative applications, just in case you’re not following. So how come the gaming board has a PCIe 5.0 M.2 SSD slot and the creator board doesn’t? It’s very fair criticism. Just goes to prove anyone can make a tit of themselves in the comments section.

Thank you for this wonderful video. It is the first review with actual test values for the Asus ProArt Z690 Creator WiFi that I could find. You are very thorough and your visuals are great. One suggestion for you for the future. Your voice is very soothing, but it was a little difficult to hear and understand you. I had to turn up the volume on my speakers significantly and also turn on the closed captions. I speak English natively, so that was a little odd for me to have to do. Perhaps a different microphone, more gain, and/or a style of speaking as if you were giving a talk at a conference, might make the audio a little easier to hear clearly on KZbin. It is just a suggestion. The overall effort was great. Thank you.
