I still think afterburner is the better tool for undervolting and overclocking. Just got a 4090 and was tuning it over the weekend and its absolutely beautiful now. Dont even go over 55° at considerably more performance than stock and way less power draw

I originally subscribed after your 7900 XTX benchmarking video, only to find this magnificent ode to a game has captured me with realism, and with your wonderful back-story involving the R9 290X which I also own since 2014. Are you still looking for an organisation? We are the EU server based "START: Starlight & Touring" which is our tiny company of players with very different play-styles.

Outstanding video as always. I appreciate the detail and insight you gave for the pc. I have been thinking about getting a mini pc like this as a entertainment room pc or as a firewall. Your sound description wss a little vague though, do you think the fan sound would be too distracting if it was used as a streaming PC for a living room?

the development evolved, but certain ideas like a personal servers are 99.9% not going to be possible. The "game" is more like 20 (don't know how many explicitly) background applications running in conjunction with each other to create the whole experience with a client to do all the visualization. The complexity is now through the roof and they will always need to manage it. monetization promises technically have not changed. 7:01 just a starter pack, most are between $45 and $100, is needed and nothing more these subscriptions are like their own patreon for people who have the money that want to contribute. This same thing goes for standalone ship sales, if you want to help out extra, go for it Ultimately, when they have a "released" product and the SQ42 game out, I think their big monetization push is going to be licensing all the tech they put together to other gaming studios, and I think this has been the unstated direction for a long time. I suspect certain pieces of the tech will be able to be modified and used in other sectors beyond gaming. I can see this being used for complex modeling of chemical, social, biological/ecological, and financial systems. If they can get all of this done before the world collapses of course

No sorry the mother card support up to 4 4 teras Nvme SSD drives, that means 16 teras running on Nvme (including the one on PCIe 3.0) Plus a classic SATA 6 Gb/s up to 4 teras... that makes a total of 20 teras Maximum inside this PC... and you can always use external hard drive... this is the first machine i see that support so much storage inside of it... Oh and by the way, the Ryzen 9 9950X version is nearly twice times more powerful... (but anyway, good video and thanks for that !) Cheers from France.

You were day tripping whs in a Widow ? Sounds like your Eve experience has been interesting xd. Frankly, to get the best understanding of SC, you need to go through so much material, and understanding CRs mind helps too. Tbh, the current scale of SC is prob beyond most other games already...

How are the graphics dated? Feel free to name another MMO that you can travel thoughout a solar system without a loading screen that looks remotely as good. In addition they are improving the graphics - it is an alpha. You seem to be comparing it to single player completed games.
@TastyPCАй бұрын
If they're not dated, why are they improving them? With everything they've got to do, why spend time improving something that's already cutting edge? It would seem that the devs agree with me that the graphics are dated in places.
@ScruffyMisguidedAndBlueАй бұрын
@@TastyPC You are still comparing apples to oranges. The bit you were criticising in the video in the hotel floor is completely missing that out in the window you can see for many miles, which includes any ships flying around, which could be well over a hundred of them if the players coordinated. It isn't a skybox that SP games would have there while you are ooh'ing and ahh'ing over the ray tracing in the floor. Ray tracing is coming to SC, but you seem to be missing what makes SC special, no skyboxes (aside from the galaxy) and no loading screens.
@TastyPCАй бұрын
@@ScruffyMisguidedAndBlue What I'm actually doing in the part of the video you've taken issue with is comparing Star Citizen today to the promise of Star Citizen in 2013. It's SC vs SC which is as apples to apples as a comparison could get. I felt that the goal of the project in 2013 was cutting edge visuals, but feel in some areas (not all areas) the industry has moved on and left SC lagging behind. The devs clearly agree with me which is why they're working to improve these aspects. This part of the video wasn't meant as a negative, it was just meant as a observation. Also I called its scale and zero loading screens a huge technical achievement. It's just after the part you're commenting about. I didn't miss that at all.
@MalemberАй бұрын
@@TastyPC You made a good video. In addition to what you stated, one further item to mention is that there was a vote the backers took on 16 Sep on 2013 (sorry can't post the link in a KZbin reply, but I can provide it directly if you wish), which resulted in altering the goals of the Kickstarter as far as the scope and mechanics of the game. So, if this change is not included, it can be misleading to compare what it is now to what it was originally.

You don't need a Joystick or HOTAS to be a good pilot, but it certainly makes the game more immersive. Most pilots who use joysticks prefer HOSAS over HOTAS. Often times with pedals. Dual joysticks with twist provide 6 axes of control which is good when your flying in a game which has 6 degrees of freedom. When it comes to learning to fly, some youtubers I'd recommend are Avenger One Johnathan Winters, and PartySquid. Some of their content is from the previous flight model, but its mostly applicable.

Star Citizen has essentially rebuilt its game a few times now. It’s not at ALL like the game it was when the kickstarter was going and I think that’s a good thing. It has WAY more to do now and already looks pretty good. When ray tracing comes in, it will look even better! A game of this scale will never look as detailed as something like Red Dead. For being an MMO style game, it is stunning. CIG has gone to great lengths to make the game work with no loading screens or transitions and I think that is an incredible feat on its own. The game will never be finished, and that just is what it is… but what it has done in this “alpha” state is incredible and will be even more incredible when it is actually optimized! I have pledged in 2015 and haven’t really started playing it seriously until I upgraded my PC about two years ago. It’s my go-to game and is so much fun if you can live/work around some of the jank. I encourage any patient person to try it now, and any inpatient person to try it at 1.0!

Its a continuous scam. The more people back, the longer it goes on. 3x the budget of GTA5 So many promises broken, and increasingly large ones made. I think thats their plan really; Capture hearts and minds by promising impossibly too much. You never have to deliver as youll always be developing, and the scope is so great there are infinite excuses. No self hosting, toooooons of pay to win in so many aspects of the game, the most missed dates imaginable, etc etc
