Quite honestly, they should have made the default start date 1930, and focus on recovery from the depression for the various countries. The ‘36 start date should stay the same, but it would’ve been nice for the Great Depression recovery to have been represented (even if only as Stability, industrial production rate, & CG factories)

It would also serve as the perfect way to utilize civil war paths like the Kaiserreich, CSA, Soviet Civil War, etc. Then, best of all, it gives you the ability to actually rebuild your country from the great depression, and *then* modernize. Furthermore, it would give countries that were isolated from the great depression's effects a leg-up, making Minor playthroughs slightly more interesting as your game isn't over if a guarantee for independence pops up.

@@AlyssMa7rin I clearly mean a waste of time for devs. I'm experienced with hoi4 modding and adding a 1930 start date would need to add a new focus tree to every country and completely overhaul them while keeping it hoi4 style. That is not something fun to do nor would people even play it much. Maybe for the first month but then people lose interest. Countries would be too op by 1939 from the amount of factories and stuff built

Interesting thing the SDP is a current political party in Germany, and is the oldest one of all the current political parties. They were a major party prior to Nazification, were the sole party to vote against giving Hitler a bunch of power, and once the Nazis gained complete control were banned. Once the Nazis were removed the SDP reappeared and regained it's status as a major German Political Party, in fact the current Chancellor of Germany is of the SDP.

The mod is so broken i swear, the monor nations with focuses in the dlc get tk start them 6 hears earlier. I played japan and the chinese unjted front didnt form 😕 Ww2 started 1937 or 38, with czechoslovakia still existing and legionnary romania was sooloing russia and beat them when germany joined. Also, you can just core any state for 50 pp and the weird decisions each country has.
