80s watches are really sleek and fun with loads of personality, glad they released those and hope to see more 80s classics return in the future

I've got the silver with the black dial and love it. As I get older I'm really starting to appreciate Casio again. They give you a hell of a lot of watch your money and unlike a lot of companies that re-release their retro classics they keep their prices on the fair side. All in all I'm a big fan.

@LoggerPT I have Raketa, Slava, Zim and Poljot. I want to get a Kirovskie 'Spider Crab'. I find modern Vostoks kitsch but some of the older ones are nice. Soviet watches seem to have fallen out of fashion because of Putin's recent behaviour. Someone told me I would feel very differently about them if I had been brought up in the Soviet Union. But I still want a 'Spider Crab'.

I have a collection of the big brands w/ big price tags, but its my Casios ( F91W, AE1200, square Gshocks, etc.) and Citizens that get the majority of my wrist time. I just really enjoy them, don't have to worry about dining them or being mugged for wearing them. I'm a child born in the 70's and coming up in the 80's and these bring back that nostalgia and just still look really cool. Good job Casio and thanks for another fun review.

What you can do with these plastic coated shiny Casios is put some cheap ceramic coating on them and reapply every 6 months to a year. Definitely helps with durability of the silver coating

Kudos for keeping the stache for the whole episode! These are nice looking, and highly reminiscent of a Seiko from the same era. Ricoh made some like these, too. Honestly, you could do a whole Retro History ep on the watches of Ricoh.

@fubaralakbar68002 жыл бұрын
I've owned a couple of anadigi Casios, and one thing I can confirm is that the hands are an absolute nightmare to set. They take forever to go around, and there's no reverse in case you overshoot. It would be nice if they included a fast-slow option, a reverse option, or both.

Very tempting to grab one! These are exactly how I remember watches when I was a kid growing up in the 80s. But, when I was a kid growing up in the 80s, I definitely didn't have a 7.75 inch wrist! I think 30mm case width just might be a tad too small for me, now I'm out of the 80s and a large 41 year old human. But hey, cheap enough to have a punt on one and pick one up. Though I do get my retro digi kick when I wear my Casio World Time. Gah. On the fence!

Picked up one of these (silver tone/white dial) thanks to your video. You hit the nail on the head when it came to moans and niggles, but what a fun and good looking watch! It's amazing how such an inexpensive watch can become an instant favourite amongst other more expensive watches.
@Black_noir_mw32 жыл бұрын
Absolutely love the look, just wish it was steel case with at least a 4 screw case back to give it some more comprehensive water proofing, but as it stands and as you say you can ask for all too much with it being as cheap as it is, while covering a lot of bases
@bigboiganiga83562 жыл бұрын
The Casio is cheap, thats true. But it isnt the best bargain for me. In 2 days time as 11.11 hits, I can still find a few Alixpress specials with NH35, full stainless steel construction, lumed and screwed on caseback for 50-60 dollars, the more or less same price for the plastic Casio. The Casio has some charms tho that others cant replicate.

I bought one of these recently. I like it. But the digital display is too deep in the watch and too far away from the screen. at least that is how it looks to me. There could be more space for digital display by just removing the useless static text around the screen. buyer of this watch could learn what this watch offers like alarm or chronograph, instead of writing it on the screen. digital display should also have been closer to screen. But I am happy overall with the purchase. It is so hard to find rectangular watches nowadays.

I like the price/accessibility, but I would gladly pay more for a stainless steel case, non rolled links, better water resistance, and a light. Willing to bypass a sapphire crystal but it would have to be plastic. Can’t fix mineral. Admirable that they’re staying true to their old school models, but they’re also missing out on what could be a potentially huge selling point for those that want the 80s look with some modern day resilience. Not expecting gshock levels, but something above a throwaway watch that you could have history with.
