@IMHTPLmao exactly, that was so unnatural-sounding, like did they *specifically* mean it's trending among rappers and rap fans who are also anime fans, or do they feel like "Black ppl" is a dirty word and that it's offensive to say "Black anime fans"...cause like, what if most of the Black anime community don't identify as "members of the hip hop community"? lol

Being an avid manga reader/anime watcher for once id like to see black characters being represented in a positive way not just comedic relief or some stereotypical thug id love if there was a manga of a black person who lived in Japan and the struggles and experiences he encounters hopefully Arthell and his studio can make this happen

Maybe try "Knights" if you want a black main character. Although It's not set in Japan, the main character does deal with a lot of discrimination and fear. There aren't any real black stereotypes and the main character is definitely not comic relief.

Japanese animation studios is not work you want to do. Its grueling work with almost no free time, you practically live in the studio, and with shitty pay on top of that. Japan barely does most of the animation anyways, they outsource to korea. And also be ready to start at the bottom, hentai, low budget stuff etc. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!! WATCH SOME VIDEOS THAT DOCUMENT ANNIME STUDIOS!!

@Yaqui Light My people? You mean black people? Okay. First, I have nothing against anybody who wants to rap, rock, metal, R&B, country or whatever they want to do. If you have the talent, and the will, then do it. No race owns anything. Nothing is yours. Just because you popularize something doesn't mean you get to own it. Second, for the last 20 years, all I've ever heard was ''If you want a black anime, make it yourself." This dude is in a position to do it...and you still got beef? That sounds likes a personal issue to me. And that makes it between you, yourself and your God. Don't involve other people. I write this with no hate in my heart. Good luck to you. Long life and good health.

This really inspired me haha. I’m getting more into digital drawing and learning to perfect it and one of my dreams is to create my own manga! And seeing a black owned animation studio is just amazing!

I guessed that he is from the east coast U.S., I was thinking Philly or NYC but it was closer than I thought, Patterson N.J., I go there often. Its not a city that lends itself to upward mobility for black males, however it can't stop greatness as dude and other black men have excelled far beyond that place.

Plus, there's not a lot of businesses nor companies that are ran by people of color (us blacks for this instance). Sure, barbershops, gas stations, electronic stores, etc. Those are white owned corporations. It's actually good to hear that it's owned by a fellow brother, which is ultra rare to hear about.
