Dean Vega Oh I see, you maybe didn‘t unterstand what I mean. I thought that I would see different bassists showing their skills on stage and maybe an explanation why he think they‘re the best. Instead I see one guy playing 20 basslines of his favourite bassists without explanation. I like this one, too. But it was strange to me, because I was expected something different while reading the title. 😅

For a genre that really started off with very simple bass parts (i mean like the Ramones and sex pistols), i love that more complex bass parts really became a staple for hardcore punk. It not only serves as another melodic instrument but adds to the overall feel and i fuckin love it. I think of punk bass parts and I think of stuff like "journey to the end of east bay" and "the idiots are taking over". I love how big a role the bass parts play in many punk songs. Ayyye I use that same purple strap on my bass. Lol. Had it since I was like 8, used to use it with my very first guitar. Those guitar straps hold up pretty well

I listen to punk bands that are dirty and gritty but I'm not going around telling people what they should or shouldn't listen to, that's up to them because tastes vary. I do feel that the term "Punk Rock" and being punk was completely trivialized and has lost meaning because after Green Day and Rancid all of a sudden everyone and everything was punk but in a commercial, MTV/VH1 kind of way which totally dissected and diluted the original message that punk conveyed.
