They used like 60 dollars worth of stainless Swedish steel, add in the equipment, manufacturing and the fact that they would need to hire people with pretty high hourly rate the mugs would need to be outrageously expensive. Would not make sense for them to scale up production and then look like clowns once the hype and people who want to buy 300 dollar mugs (plus like 100 in shipping) are gone. They are defiantly losing money on the 300 they made.

I thought the CEO said they were losing money on each unit. No way for us to verify but likely true plus it takes staff away from producing actual equipment. its quite literally.. not printing money. mugs are often cheap. most average people wouldnt pay the asking price of a dense steel CNC milled mug. high material cost, high manufacturing cost. you cant just pop these things out on a belt. sure if you built an entire factory around it, but who knows in a month when hype dies down and now you just have a mug factory.. theres a reason they made 300 and not 300k.. its a timely process.

So definitly funny that this video came out after he met with the people at Eleiko.... So I think a lot of people do not seem to understand why this triggered such frustration with the Company. It has nothing to do with having a limited/exclusive product. It was entirely how the Company acted towards their customers and then responded to the frustrations. I really think they don't understand how much goodwill and brand value they damaged in the response. I know this is a luxury brand at the end of the day and so ultimately it probably won't matter as many people cannot afford their products.

What was NOT mentioned by Coop was that some people received a special link that was functional. Others received links that DID NOT WORK. The reason why there is so much anger is that we were LIED TO. They pretended that it was an equal chance of getting the mug, when in actuality, only the ones with the link containing "lithium" in it would actually work and the others would not. . Don't know if Coop just didn't do his research or he is ignoring this key fact and being a shill. Many of us feel like we were kicked in the teeth became we were not "the chosen ones" that got the functional link. If this was an equal sale, then the limited release would not be an issue. However, when you LIE to people and only provide working links (with lithium in this link), that is a major issue. It is outright deceitful.

This happens all the time in the backpack community too, and some smarter companies have been doing things like opening up orders every Wednesday for a fixed but undisclosed amount of bags, then they make those and ship them and open up orders again the next week. They keep doing this for months and they’ve been selling out each time, but they’re a VERY small shop (
