Fun fact: This car ran an almost equal time around the Ferrari test track as the Ferrari Enzo. A car with over 150 more horsepower. That's really a testament to just how well the 430 Scuderia handles.

Drove often the Scuderia and was a couple of times passenger in the Enzo. The Scuderia has beyond the weight two big advantages: the gearbox felt almost slow in the Enzo (around 150ms against 60ms) and the Enzo had Bridgestone tyres what weren't that grippy. But the V12 sound though...

2:57 making the windows out of Lexane (or Makrolon in this case, which is essentially Lexane with a scratch resistant coating) is actually considerably cheaper than making them from glass, but there are a whole bunch of other reasons why they are only used in race cars or road cars that want to be race cars. It's lighter and cheaper, but it also scratches much more easily (even with the coating), it fogs up incredibly quickly and it has terrible noise and heat insulation. The pane itself is also very flexible, making it impossible to have roll-down windows made from Lexane since the window would pop out of the weather stripping if it's rolled down partially or might jam inside the door if it's rolled down all the way. Obviously on doors with frameless windows like this Ferrari has, the door window wouldn't even seal at all if it was made from Lexane as well.

I always thought it sounded the best and even though it doesn't have a dual clutch there was a certain purity to these that even the later 458 and Pista were lacking. In Dougs last Scud review--a nice one was about 250K. Now Post Covid and 5 YEARS later-a 10,000-15,000 mile Scud is right around 300k-315k. I'd say that is pretty great! The luxury, paint to sample, then store and never drive it crowd of buyers were the kind of people he disliked. "You buy a Ferrari for the performance. I agree completely - 430 was truly beautiful Ferrari's. It's my favorite V8 Ferrari ever.

My favorite Ferrari. I remember being obsessed with the high end minimalist track focus inspired interior
