This fake engine noise is pretty terrible. Lexus should get rid of it because it’s supposed to be a lexus and quiet. Everyone knows this isn’t a sporty car. Only the LC, IS, and GS are lexus sporty cars. If you want to drive sporty then get a car not a crossover.

I drove this car and you obviously don’t get it. I was able to keep up with a BMW 328i driving this car in Sport mode and I am 100% sure it will cost less to own and technologically is better than that 3-series. It’s a much quicker car than the CT200h which is still a great little car...You obviously do not know how to objectively review cars. Every car isn’t going to be a BMW M3 and to expect it to be like a BMW or Audi is showing you’re not exactly an objective automobile reviewer. The UX 250h is a great little car! And this is coming from someone who owned a BMW 335i.

I feel like every reviewer should be more critical about a vehicle with this price tag. I don’t think you heard his closing statements at all- you can get more vehicle for same price but without the Lexus branding. And he is 1000% correct with that statement. This car does nothing outstanding but asks for a good chunk of money in return.

Nearly EVERY review this guy does for a Toyota/Lexus product, he says that they're underpowered and they should do this or that. But oddly enough, they continue to WIN with quality, value, style, reliability and ample power when needed. Toyota is the #1 selling automotive brand WORLDWIDE for all of those reasons. They're smart, they appeal to a broader audience than most and they actually listen to needs of their consumers. At times, they're slow to react, but for good reason. They do LOTS of testing to be sure a change isn't a faulty one all while protecting their brand.

They don't fix what's not broken. Isn't that what they teach in MBA programs. Don't fix something that's working. Boring yes, dependable, hell yes. Only complaint is that Toyota/Lexus products don't feel safe. They feel flimsy and death traps.

Leased a 2011 and ended up buying it. Sold it with 210k miles. I dreamt of a AWD turbo monster rally hatch. Lexus wasted it's lifecycle with virtually no updates minus a few cosmetics. The CVT whine was annoying but the mileage was awesome.

Lexus plays the safe and sane route way too much. Just because you've developed a reliable power that sells relatively well do you just sit and ride it out? Folks knock BMW for being unreliable. There is validity to some of that but BMW take risks. Lexus doesn't. Thats my point.

The horsepower and acceleration is very close to the competition like the price equivalent GLA200 at 163hp, while the X2 sDrive20i is at 192hp with acceleration at 7.7, with the base X2 starting at 140hp. So, I don't know why people say it is slow, makes no sense to me

Which "CVT"? Corolla with non-CVT first gear? Real CVT with belt and variable pulleys? Or typical Prius "Power-Split Device" with no pulleys or belt? Also, NIMH is better. It lasts longer than LION, and if you keep the car over 10 years or 150k, the consumer can replace all 28 modules for $1950. Or buy them on E-Bay for $40 each. Lithium is not consumer-serviceable in the Prius.

Dr. Stan Ovshinsky drove an EV-1 on NIMH 209 miles on a charge. NIMH has enough energy density for consumer needs. My 2005 Prius has 200k and I can replace the modules myself. On a Ford C-Max. the battery pack is $9400. Lithium is fine if you lease a car (most Teslas are leased) but I keep a car 20 years.

@@amazoidal after 100,000k miles in a Tesla, batteries can retain 95% of their original charge capacity. if wear is your main concern, you wont have to worry. li ion has the best energy density and it really matters when it comes to vehicle size and cargo room.

But I have 200k and I'm going to 300k+ at 20 years old. Many Prius taxis here have 300-400k. I don't think LION has been around long enough. We will see.

I just got one for my wife. We returned a 2018 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring, to get a UX. Personally, I would have leased another CX-5 but she wanted something smaller and less tall too, so it was a perfect fit for her wish. But paying 42K, in my opinion, is too much, the only reason I decided on this tiny cross-over was that I got one with a hefty discounted price ( late October 2020 ). I basically leased a UX250h F-Sport basic of around 39,500.00 at 34,000.00 and almost 0% financing. At this price is worth it, never at full MSRP. The car is smooth and feels pretty solid, almost like a Mercedes Benz GLA that we owned before the CX-5. But the trunk is really small for the battery pack located under the trunk floor and rear seats, well, don't put your friends there....they will hate you🤣🤣🤣.

The reason they had to cap the power at 180 is because the NX300h has the old RAV4 hybrid power train making 190 hp... they can’t have their entry level model surpass the larger suv in terms of power (their mistake for sharing power train components in a $35,000 car that also comes in an $18,000 corolla hatch)

Sister, against my advice, bought one of these to replace her old Lexus RX300 which she loved. Complains that it's too small and buzzy. Duh, it's a gussied up Corolla. The Lexus styling is growing up (in a good way) and although the cargo capacity isn't SUV sized, at least the load floor is level with the hatch opening, the opening looks pretty big and the rear seats appear to fold flat. And good on Sofyan for showing this clearly. Were it my money, I'd look at VW Golf. I'd take the gamble on long term reliability. Or maybe just get the Corolla hatch and call it a day.

Not true at all. This car may be an entry level Lexus, but at over $40 grand, we have to let you all know there are FAR better options for the money... including a few vehicles in the Toyota lineup. We'd much rather have a RAV4 Hybrid over this car.

Oh Sofyan..... you gotta get who this is marketed to. Lexus strives to target “old money families”. They want the dad to drive the LX570, momma in the Rx350. Put the son in a IS350 and then the 16 year old daughter is gonna get this. They want a vehicle that is safe, looks cool, RELIABLE, and luxurious. This is perfect for this new driver! They don’t care about 0-60 times, they want knee airbags. They don’t care about the fake noise, they want accident avoiding features.

You mentioned a lot of "Engine Noise". What did you expect from a Hybrid? What hybrid have you driven that doesn't make "Engine Noise"? When you accelerate hard, the battery has to transfer energy to make it accelerate. You are driving the hybrid car hard like it's full electric or an ICE.

It's intereseting to see how the american car market differs from the brazilian one. Here, most luxury entry crossovers offer 1.4 turbo engines. The UX here comes only in the hybrid version, same 2.0 engine. While it's not as fast as a 1.4 turbo, it does not lag very much behind the competitors here. Also, it's price is actually cheaper than all of the competitors. I live in são paulo, and my city has a vehicle rotation system for every car except for hybrids and electric cars. Also, our road quality is pretty crappy, which means that Lexus cars tend to be more reliable in these rough conditions compared to the more fragile (but more sportier) german competitors. So, I believe this car has actually the best cost-benefit of the luxury crossover market in Brazil. Its interesting (and ironic) that in spite of all this, Lexus of Brazil does not sell as well as in the United States, which has a lot more technologically advanced options and less restrictions in it's car market

This actually has more front legroom than an NX, more rear legroom than an IS, a trunk with 3 cu. Ft more than an ES and the seats fold flat and the load floor is much more open; I can fit full sheets of drywall in mine! It’s an in-between car with luxury car look & feel. If you are okay with that it’s fantastic. You also can’t get anything that even matches the fuel economy by a long shot. I’m not sure why these reviewers are so pessimistic about this little suv. Lexus never gets any love for what are objectively fantastic vehicles!

We were shopping this summer and already own an RX which we like so we checked out the UX. I really liked the UX250h until we drove it and we bought a Volvo xc40 instead. The only thing worse than the fake sound pumped in is the sound of the actual engine. The car is so gutless it is embarrassing. It has a truly horrible infotainment system. I cannot imagine being stuck with this as a daily driver. Couldn’t wait to get back to the dealer to end the test drive.

Honestly, this 2019 Lexus seems to have the same mushy acceleration as the 2010 Prius I used to have. The engine sounds like it's being murdered and even with 181HP, it just seems slow. And the fake engine noise is just atrocious. It's a fad I'd love to see die. I'm not sure when I'll buy a new car again, but when I do, I certainly don't want the sound of a V6 sloppily synced to the rev counter.
