If the control is a virtual one, they seem to be unable to remember its location, almost as if they expect it to have moved in the time since they last used it. It's a "two-tap" activation procedure, and the first thing one must tap IS a physical button, which guarantees the appearance of the virtual second button. Again, I'm just curious. It's a curious thing, and I don't believe that simple age-related cognitive decline accounts for it. Perhaps it's a perception thing, or maybe this sort of thing requires the use of a part of one's brain that older people just never had occasion to use before. Or some other reason entirely. But, yes, curious.

My 2002 Volkswagen Jetta had the same idea with the door locks and windows. Put the key in the keyhole turn and hold it to the lock position the windows would all roll up. Hold it in the unlock position and the windows would roll down. Was great for the summer days. I wish more cars had that little Easter egg.
