It depends, a volume leading crew cab 4x4 f150 xlt is typically $50-60k here in Canada, and the Ranger xlt is about 40-45k. If I didnt need the towing of a full size truck i would consider a ranger.

10:14 they have the Ranger Raptor in Australia, South East Asia, Europe, Africa for some years now. The Australian have it first, then SEA, Europe and other countries. Most of the ranger raptor are manufactured in Thailand and Vietnam(2021). Funfact: the Ranger Raptor have the coil spring watt linkage rear suspension way before the new 2021 f150 raptor.

Unforantatly it comes with a 4 cylinder diesel which is so slow and the 10-speed really does hunt for gears when paired to the diesel. But hey it looks big and tough so tradies still buy it in droves to show up the work site with the biggest dick.

I drove the new Ranger at a special event 2 1/2 years ago. I drove my 2018 Tacoma pro to the event so I had a back to back comparison. I can tell you this- the Ford was better in every aspect - power, transmission, interior, turning radius, and seating position. The only advantage to the Tacoma was the Fox suspension and its ride and maybe the looks by a smidge. I had the Tacoma for 3 months and 2300 miles and traded it in on a 2018 F150 Raptor at a $12000 loss. I f'd up and I admit it.

I just recently got one of these trucks and I honestly do love it so far. I was in the market for an off road truck but I couldn’t really afford/justify the raptor price tag, but I didn’t really have the need for a full size truck and honestly the Ranger is a perfect fit for what I want to do with it, which is go to the desert, camp under the star and be able to haul/tow stuff if I needed. 7,000 towing capacity is pretty decent. I do enjoy it and I just couldn’t afford the raptor at 56,000 dollars. I got mine for 35,000 which was 10K down from sticker. Plus side mine was a lease return so it wasn’t super abused

Think you're missing the key feature of the Tremor. You get more off road capability than the regular Ranger, but you're not sacrificing any payload capability unlike the TRD Pro and ZR2. So it's the working man's off road truck

Plus F150 raptors aren't really good off road, its just a bunch of trophy truck imitation gimmicks the "side steps" on the tremor are also rock sliders to protect the body from rocks and other objects.

Also, I was disappointed to not hear more about the suspension upgrade. I have a 2019 Lariat with FX4 package and from what I see on forums,Reddit etc, the fox shocks you can upgrade to totally change the rangers ride

I think its because of the American obbsession with big engines. Ranger Raptor has a 2.0 engine. in a country where family haulers have 3.5 engines it might hurt the brands image in the eyes of "VEE EEEEEIIGGGHHHTTTT" people. Even doug who is fairly open minded says it weird that it doesn't have a v6 despite the fact that engine in the video is bigger than the ranger raptors and he likes it. I can imagine american people looking at the 2.0 on a paper and don't even look at the truck.

A ranger raptor would not only cut into those (and ford isn't going to choose to make less money), but it would also need to get a different engine, because a 2L diesel in a performance truck isn't going to cut it here. It would break the product line.

The difference between cost and the price the dealer pays is virtually guaranteed to be bigger on the full size raptor. As long as demand outpaces supply, it would be dumb for Ford to sell product that would compete in the same market segment. They will only sell it once they need to attract new buyers. Ford said this, not me. If you disagree with their market research people, find their address and email them.

Love the new tremor packages, and wish this would have been available on the f150 when I bought mine. IMO this is a perfect softroader, allows you to add upgrades like lights with the built in switches, comes with good tires and tow hooks, skid plates and awesome shocks etc that you need to hit light trails. Also not really sure why he keeps saying its not nearly as good as a TRD pro? There isnt really anything that the TRD does better other than a bit more suspension travel and a bigger following. The ranger tremor is likely just as good, and the powertrain is far better, in addition to having the switches which make wiring so much easier.

Doug, you forgot to mention that the Ranger Tremor is the only truck I’m aware of that gets off road bits while maintaining the same max towing of other trims: 7,500 lbs. Best in class tow and payload. So you can tow your travel trailer, unhook, and go wheeling. 👍

I remember my mom had a 97 ranger, 4 cylinder. Merging onto the highway she would have to scoot forward in the seat to get the pedal down far enough to get all she could out of the tiny engine. Used to pile sandbags in the bed for the winter so we could get it up the snowy hill. Ranger has come a long way

Tremor is more in line with RAM’s Rebel and Chevy/GMC’s Trailboss/AT4 packages. The only issue is, those are in the full size market. The mid-size market goes up a level with their off road packages. What does the Tacoma TRD Pro have over the Tremor? The Tremor is as capable as as the TRD Pro. A Gladiator Rubicon and ZR2 offer front lockers, so I can understand why Doug says they are more capable than the Tremor. Acting like the TRD Pro is more capable is just BS, though.

Brand new but at 3min.30sec. check out that view under the front wheel arch and see how many components have started to rust. Lower suspension bushing and chassis mount, rivet or screw at the bottom of the shock, cable mount, washer and bolt at the underside of the suspension turret. Crazy that on a new vehicle there are parts that are either unplated or so thinly painted/protected that they have already deteriorated.

The Ranger Raptor is available in other countries , Australia and Asia even in my country and I’ve driven it. Comes with a 2.0L BiTurbo Diesel engine and 10 speed auto. Wide and tall, so many brig driven around . Has wider track , and coil suspension front and back. Maybe only is the US it was not marketed but it’s been around here for over 2 years.

I just ordered a '23 Ranger XLT Tremor last Fri. Have owned a '19 Ranger XLT FX4 for 4yrs & its been impeccable! I love this generation Ranger & wanted the best edition before all new '24 Ranger debuts late '23. If you watch "off rd" comparisons you will find it handily beat the Tacoma TRD-Pro. Has proven Gen2 TGDI powertrain that's superior as well. I think your a bit misguided bout this trucks capabilities Doug! You never once mentioned the Fox 2.0 shocks & 32in General Grabber tires.

There is already such thing as a Ranger Raptor, but not in the American market. I've only ever seen it in Europe, although it may exist elsewhere. Why they haven't brought it to the US yet, I'm not really sure. EDIT: The Ranger Raptor elsewhere may actually just be the Tremor in the US.

The way its edited seems that way. The doug score at the end is abbreviated like all more doug videos. On the main doug channel the doug score goes into detail. I think this is the second time a video that was meant for more doug was placed on his main channel.
