Wow! What a beast. One thing though, I don't understand why people are saying that this vehicle, or any vehicle like this won't last a long time. In reality, any vehicle can be reliable, as long as they are maintained properly. I think the problem is that some people don't maintain their vehicles very well. So please, do not blame Mercedes, or any automaker for the problems with the vehicles.

Mono blocks are a cool throwback. Just wish they were a smaller diameter. The Land Cruiser reference was on point. To my eye, especially from the back, this thing evokes the Land Cruiser. It's fun to see Mercedes taking the lead in a segment.

the 48v system is pure garbage and all german manufacturers basically uses it, from vw to audi to porsche , mercedes, why not make a plugin hybrid with at least 100 miles range?! and use alumium for light weight body

@@alanmay7929 I've said for a long time plug ins or range extenders are the way to go at the moment. Batteries are a pain to make in bulk, use a load of resources and have weight/packaging issues when they're large. Internal combustion isn't clean enough. So why not use a battery just large enough to do most of the work on electric and have an engine to carry on for the times its not enough? Split one Tesla sized battery into three or four and you could do 80% of the driving in four cars for the same resources. Plug ins usually come with other benefits too like pre-heating, silent running in traffic, and a decent power bump thanks to having another motor in there. This thing could have run the 350e system with a larger battery and got 30-50 miles ev with a 100hp+ bump in power to go with it. Thats just better and at this price really needs to be.

Those wheels work very well on an early 90’s e class. It was fitting. Big chunky wheel on a very boxy car. New smooth lined vehicles don’t look good with them in my opinion. It is like putting a set of craigers on an 812 Superfast. It doesn’t fit. Give me the split 5 spoke 22’s on the GLS 580 instead.

All these "monsters" currently being reviewed on TFL, it's like the Bugler scene played by Peter Seller in the movie "The party". Guys please give us a competitive analysis of 5 people haulers that get more than 50MPG, these are the vehicles that the average family need and are trying to afford. These 15-20MPG last gasp ICE attempts at attracting buyers are ridiculous.
