While it is impressive, it is a small sample. Kelvin Kiptum is incredible, a testimony to hard work, training technique, physical form and it shows, no doubt. He has yet to go 'marathon' in The Marathon, but he IS certainly very VERY fast. I am looking forward to Paris! The course is not designed for speed, but only has about 28 turns, compared to the 44 or so here in Chicago. PS: I love that you made this comment as Forrest Gump! You can see he was all in on this even his form changed in the 2nd half. Hopefully he can recover well between races because there is one thing about Kipchoge he has amazing form. This is good as it shows how prepared Kipchoge is for a race. Kiptum on the other hand has excellent form at the beginning but towards the end is quite compromised. Could this lead to an injury? Well lets not get ahead here, Chicago had 12+ pacers, and Kiptum was still well paced. @@headshot9611 Not crying at all. Im celebrating. I'm a huge Fan of both Eluid and Kelvin. I'm just pointing out the facts. Too many folks are losing perspective and jumping ahead of themselves. It's disrespectful to Eluid Kipchoge and his legendary career in my opinion. Especially considering that Eluid is largely responsible for Kevin's success. Kelvin is Eluids protégé. Kipchoge is the one that is pushing Kelvin to break the 2 minute barrier.

Somebody has to break 10 seconds for 100m, 4 min for 1 mile. These are common now, but those who did the feats first will be remembered. Kipchoge may not have broken 2-hour mark in a competitive race, but he had shown it is humanly possible. He will be remembered for generations.

This guy is Eluid Kipchoge's protégé. He trains with the GOAT. Kipchoge is very proud of this achievement I'm sure. He's been pushing his entire team to break the 2 hour barrier. Hopefully Kiptum and Kipchoge can come together at the Olympics and mount an assault on the 2 hour barrier. That would be a dream come true for Eluid Kipchoge. Congratulations to Kelvin Kiptum on this monumental achievement.
